I've found the following link which suggests online registration opens at 3pm CET on Monday 30th. Most of you will probably be buying 8 euro a pint beer in Nice, but just letting you know.
Not a pirate but have taken plenty of advice, a little abuse and met a few of you, if I can get a place then I am in. As I work for an Austrian company I can then spend a year learning useful phrases such as 'Is there a portaloo which isn't covered in crap' and 'carry me'.
I spent several hours yesterday going through all the Euro Ironman races, grading each one on course, time of year, location etc etc and Austria came out on top!!
So (subject to appoval from the wife) it looks like I may be in too...
From reading the IMA site, it looks like online sales start Monday 30th June at 3pm CET (2pm BST)?
"IRONMAN Austria 2015
Date: June, 28 2015
here are two options on how to register for the IRONMAN Austria 2015:
1. On-site registration on Monday June 30th 2014 from 10 am to 2 pm you can register on-site in Klagenfurt for the IRONMAN Austria 2015. Please bring a credit card for payment, your ID or a copy of your ID and your email address.
2. The online registration for the IRONMAN Austria 2015 opens on Monday June 30th at 3 pm CET. The link will be published on www.ironman.com/austria
- Now Ryanair don't fly direct to Klagenfurt from Stansted, best flight seems to be to Ljubljana in Slovenia which is then about an hour (by hire car or transfer/taxi) to Klagenfurt
- If I don't do anything else, I'll get my bike shipped over and back. I found this place yesterday which seems expensive but saves bike trasfer cost, extra hire car/transfer cost, a huge amount of stress at the airport and they allow you an extra bag for your wetsuit, CO2, helmet etc. Plus, you don't have to spend time putting your bike back together
- As with other Euro IM's Nirvana seem to have block booked the hotels, so it's probably a choice of go with them or stay a distance away. I'll probaby bite the bullet and get a hotel as close to the start/finsh as possible
- Not sure if I'll be bringing wife or wife and kids...I'll have to have the conversation tonight
flying to Munich is another option - more flights available and similar transfer. if you take the family then perhaps drive over and make it a holiday as well.
there are other bike shipping companies around that are based in the UK
you don't NEED to go with Nirvana at all - there's loads of independent choices available and knowing the Pirates, they'll probably block book the Youth Hostel which they did in 2007. also a very good campsite 5 mins walk from the start/finish.
Last year (Jun 13) first on-line search for hotels immediately after entry showed no places available. Reality was that most hotels hadn't yet opened booking for June 14. E-mailing a few produced several options before they became available for on-line booking.

Two weeks from now, we'll be getting ready to press submit
Barley has a website?
Yes, but its blocked by most ISPs for cruel and unusual content
Raf - Is this going to be your third attempt at a Champ race? You never know you might be able to get 3 DNS in a row, that must be a record.
A better get a trophy then!!
I think you'd more likely get a kick up the arse quite frankly
Did you have to bring up Barley's website again?
*lurks*
sort of....nearly....maybe got the nod for this one. Is it 2pm on Monday then?
That's the one 9sqrun
Toucs and I are in for Austria 2015. And just doomed the UK to another 12 months of crap weather.
Looks like I may have the nod to go for it! Austria 2015 here we go!
