Can I have a copy of the Excel sheet as well please. Ta
Good morning all and Oh what a beautiful morning it is here- I spent most of the weekend either driving or sorting out my sister in laws dodgy computer. It wasn't a complete success either which is rather frustrating Damn contraption - Incompatable hardware - Grrrr
After 3 weeks of over-eating and drinking I have just written yet another ambitious weight loss plan - target to lose the weight before my birthday at the end of Feb - 14kg - At the weekend I had some fab meals that were all rather healthy, very tasty and very low in calories (Inspired by WW) Anyone want to join me losing weight?
I have mine enabled but the way I receive the notifications is a bit erratic i.e. nothing for ages then about 70 at once. That could be the e-mail provider (is that the technical term ?)rather than RW though.
Off to Benidorm on Friday for the marathon. A bit soon after Dublin and hardly any running inbetween (8 miles on Sat the furthest since the marathon)but not looking for a PB, just want to get round comfortably.
"We believe that BT/Yahoo are choking delivery of emails generated by the Runner’s World domain. Basically, when BT/Yahoo are delaying delivery the mails get sent back to us to be re-attempted. This comes back to the sending mail server and reduces our ability to send further mails out. This then slows the other notifications/emails going out, not only to BT/Yahoo accounts, but the rest of you, too.
We’ve repeatedly tried to contact BT/Yahoo to resolve this but they aren't helping much.
I know this isn’t the most ideal situation, but our tech team are trying to resolve the matter."
For me it works for a day and then is off for the rest of the week and then I get 50-100 notifications
use gmail. It bundles them together and you only get one for every thread you're sbscribed to.
Amadeus, you're more than welcome to the training plan if you want to add a couple of 6 hour bike rides and the odd 3.8 km swim to your training.......
All - so sorry. have tried to catch up on posts while having sandwich at lunchtime but just can't get through them all. And there were so many good training tips in there for next year's mara as well(!)
All I can report is I went to the gym on Thurs and Sun and it is still as boring as when I used to go there. Saw friends on Thurs night heading out for their run and could have cried with frustration that I was stuck counting every damn minute on that stupid cross-trainer thing. Hate it. Hate it. I think the rower hurts my knees as well. Hate it too. Too busy to stay on thread. Sorry. Will dip in and out. If there's anything really important, please do a link or something. Work/life too busy. Stupid gym. Why is it that everyone in our village has now taken up running now that I'm stuck in that stupid you know what.
Oh, and, just before I go. Thought I would sign up for swimming lesson - I'm really bad at it. No problem. Except there's a 6 month waiting list. So it's stupid as well. You can tell I'm in great form. Thanks for listening.
Get well soon NRG and console yourself with teh knowledge that even with an enforced layoff marathon runners are still fitter than gym bunny joggers you've spotted out and about!
Hmmm 3.8m swim I think I can manage. Anything further and I need an outboard motor. Cheers for teh link AATTB - will waste more of my time bumbling about there I think!
It's 76 lengths of a 50 m pool and 152 of a 25 m pool. 190 of a 20 m pool but at that stage you're starting to push it as you'll spend more time kicking off the end than actually swimming.
You know I'm doing really well at the Spanish (teacher stopped me at the end of the class to compliment me!) but even there I can't remember the numbers...complete mental block re: maths.
My mum (psychologist) has some theory about left handed brains and stuff!
real question this time...I've been informed I'm going out on the bike this Sunday...the last time on the bike I was nearly killed (ok...probably slight exaggeration, I fell off said bike into very slowly moving traffic on a country road...but my life did flash before me!)
the reason was that I couldn't get my feet out of the bloomin' cleats...I think we've all done that! Now, for this weekends ride should I use cages, spd's are just ordinary pedals (all are options open to me)..I am NOT using the cleats (*hyperventilates*)
if you are really not happy using cleats at the moment then I would suggest using the cages. At least that way you can still get some sort of lift on the pedal if they are fitted correctly, thus giving a simliar affect to cleats. But, at the same time knowing all you have to do is pull the foot backwards to be free of the pedal.......and it also gives you the option if you are not happy with the straps being tight to ease them off slightly as you ride.

Oh dear, you are in a bad way. Chin up, it can only get better.
Just off for a nice walk with my little Poppy dog. Will catch up again later.

There's nothing worse than not being able to go out your run when you so really want to.

Iknow I can go faster than that but it's just so long since I was in the water!
