Birkmyre: I fell off the bike trying to mount a kerb, which I thought was low, but it was high. Forgot to put on my glasses and I have rubbish night vision, so entirely stupid and my fault! 10k race today, I did it in a couple of seconds over an hour, which I'm happy enough with, all things considered. Great conditions and nice route around Finsbury Park. Followed by delicious kebab
Edit to say: my brother also ran with me today in a not-too-shabby few seconds shy of 51 mins, pretty good work considering he's barely run throughout the winter and only prep was a 10 k last weekend... I know I'm a woman and all that, but not really fair considering I consistently run 3-4 times a week and do 20-25 miles....
16miles long run at an average of 8:12 min/mile pace
Finsbury Park to Camden, up to Euston down Tottenham Court Road, past Trafalgar Square, through Embankment Station, over the Hungerford Bridge, down the South Bank to Tate Modern, over the Millenium Bridge, round St Pauls, past the Barbican, down to Angel up Upper street, twice round Highbury Fields, down to Finsbury park, up Parkway and back.
First 6 mile fine but had to concentrate to avoid going too fast.
11 miler trying to trace the Watford half marathon that none of us did. 1.35 8.44 per mile. not too bad considering I'd been up since 5am. don't much like some of the canal tow path I found - too bumpy under foot. didn't help that i started with a slight thigh strain after having done a few leg raises as mention in this issues runners world. would have preferred to have got out earlier and would like to think that I could have made the full length - but it was getting dark.
7 miles yesterday in brilliant sunshine. It was a delight to be out running.
I did the first 4 miles in 9.43 m/m, the next 2 in 9.55 m/m and finally the last mile averaging 10.16 m/m, so all in all I was quite pleased with the run. I finally seem to have put injuries behind me (except for a blister on the end of one toe - I really must get some new shoes!).
6.5 miles for me this morning on my way into work - off the train 4 stops early, and then ran down through Wandsworth, over into Chelsea, and down Kings Road into the West End......
Nice run, enjoyed running through where I used to live (before the inevitable flight to the 'burbs), and legs and lungs felt in good shape.
I'm planning two heavy weeks of training - hoping to get back to 40+ mile weeks, so pace was nice and steady.
9.6 miles in 1hr 22 mins tonight for me. Tonight was the best chance I have this week for a mid-week longer run, so I skived off work a bit early, got an early train and did a very rambling route home....
YoungPup, sounds fantastic...green with envy! Only managed just under 3 miles this afternoon, got waylaid at work and only gave myself 20 mins before getting kids. Fantastic spring day and Epping Forest was beautiful. Looking forward to a decent club run tomorrow night hopefully
6 miles, don't know what time as I wasn't bothered. What made it nice was that I was just recovering from a near fatal dose of manflu over the weekend....

Sat 6.00am - chilly and still dark at the start.
10.7km (53min) - slow recovery run on tired legs
I enjoy the morning chorus on my early weekend runs.
Good weekend everyone
60mins easy.
Nessie: Did that myself when I used to commute by bike !
4M. Ok, ok, it was a walk, but at this stage of my rehabilitation, I'm counting it!
5 miles on treadmill this morning in 39 minutes.
Also had a 5 mile walk at lunch, this took 1:25.

Impressive stuff Surrey Runner!
Me; steady 5k, just to keep the rehab going. Just under 25 min. Pleased with the effort. Felt like running rather than bambi on ice!

Squark: good to hear things are coming together for you on the running front.
compo: decent 10k effort there.
15 miles for me in 2:03, so 8:13 m/m average, just 2 seconds under target pace. Felt easy today after weekend rest and a cut back week last week.
4M Easy, bit heavy legged. Mild and dry.
Squark: Good run.
compo: Good 10k
SR: Good long run.
Meant to say both in previous post.
