Can I join.I've lost 3lb this week. 5lb since Christmas. Need to lose at least another 10lb to give my legs a chance of  a PB.

  • Options

    morning

my all singing and dancing body fat monitor has told me this morning that I've gained ½ a pound! It's also told me that I've lost 3% of my body fat. The tape measure tells me I've lost ½ inch of my waist (but nothing off my belly and bum image) I don't know how this can happen!

I've had no alcohol at all and have been careful (mostly) with my food intake - although I must say that I've troughed some choccie and finished the Christmas cake in the past 3 or 4 days. I've also run (plodded) 18 miles so far this week, walked the dogs everyday for at least a mile.

Ok - scales, this is war!!!

I'll be trying harder this week and there will be no cake and no chocolate.

lol Lady Sue  but you've lost 3% body fat and 1/2'' that's got to be good right??  - better than lbs lost I think as you know it's  from the right place (not muscle) image

    Last week: 9st 13lb
    This week: 9st 11lb

Quarter inch off bust and hips.

Half a measly pound lost image

I was 2 pounds down Monday - and haven't been pigging out - must have been somethign to do with less exercise, although I can't believe I've seriously gainedon what I was eating.

Just all part of the fluctuation I guess

Hi All. Absolutely no change this week

    http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_10.gif

despite having run 33 miles since last weigh in. Still, imagine how much lardier I would be if I wasn't a runner.

    Take care everyone BB

I agree about the fluctuations. I weighed myself yesterday and had lost a pound, this morning it is just 3/4 of a pound and I was really good yesterday and ran, doesn't makes sense, but it is all in the right direction and hopefully it means I'll post a bigger loss next weekimage

    this week: 3/4lb
    total lost: 3/4lb
    to go: 9lbs

Like with race times, Bear, be more interested in the downward trend

½lb loss each week, every week is more sustainable in the long run

It lools like not only have I shed the gain over Christmas but I've lost an extra pound too

    haha, i dunno DH image

i think one thing that has made a MASSIVE difference is not having crunchy nut clusters for breakfast and supper. each was probably around 500cals (234cals per 40g serving - 40g is like 3 spoonfuls and i had at least 6 in each bowl). i have also slightly reduced portion sizes of my dinner, had soup for every lunch and every snack has been fruit or natural yoghurt with fruit in it. (except one time when i put some clusters in it image)

and i have done alot of cycling this week burning an average of 760 cals/hr

anyway, it is just the 1st week. i put on 6lbs over the holidays so i have really just lost 1lb from before the holidays image

Wait a minute. Am I being a div? Is the list showing overall loss or just the loss for the week? Not that it makes a difference as I lost nowt this week but should know for future reference.
  • Options

Ostrich, I'm hoping it's loss for the week!  If not I need to change it!

  • Options
I'm confused with the list too....I did that one last week just for the first week and thought people would post their loss for the second week and I'd do another list for it, rather than an overall one??! We could do a list with pounds lost this week and pounds lost overall?? Let me know what you all think.....

I'm also confused with my weigh in.....

    Pre run 1xst 10 3/4 (1/4 of a pound loss)

    Post run 1xst 8 3/4 ( 2 and a 1/4 pound loss)

Which should I take as being accurate?? Last week I weighed post run
  • Options
I'd be consistent about it Aitch - you may be a bit dehydrated or somethign but at least you're comparing like with like.
  • Options

Post-run it's likely to be the fluids you sweated out on your run.  I'd go pre-run.  I always weigh myself first thing in the morning with nowt on and before food/drink.

  • Options
And weight after run could just be water loss.  It's one of those things they recommend to see how much hydration you need....weighing pre and post so that you take in enough water on runs.  But agree with KK's recommendation and doing it the same way every week.  Not that I'm standing on a scales yet!
  • Options

I think weighing prior to the run and then keeping it consistent is the best way - you could sweat more on some days.

Count this week's loss as two pounds but weigh prior next week - and then compare that to this week's prior to run weight image

  • Options
Thanks guys. I think it will be water loss. I did drink a pint of water when I got back and weighed after that but I do sweat, like, A LOT! Might count this week as 1 and half pound loss then from now on weigh first thing before food and run. Sound ok?
