Congratulations Shades - never in doubt that you would come through. Hope you enjoyed the atmosphere today and that you didn't suffer too much. 262 miles in ten days on the same route is an outstanding achievement and you have my complete respect - next time I meet you I'll have to bow as (Waynes World-esque) - "we're not worthy"!!!
Enjoy that pizza (extra-large/deep-pan, I hope) and the champagne. Have a lay-in in the morning and no running tomorrow!!
Just back from a really good day out - some great performances by any number of forumites/fetchies but they can all wait for the 'main' thread. Saw Shades at our water station and again at the finish - not sure which she had the biggest smile at - today, apparently, went much better than she had hoped/expected.
All of the remaining ten finished, all looked really well doing so and all got the reception they deserved from the assembled audience as the highlight/climax of the presentations.
Most telling comment I got today was from my physio, who has been looking after them all week - apparently even he is completely in awe of the achievements (as well as thinking they are certifiable!). Oh - that and legendary fell runner Joss Naylor claiming he didn't feel worthy to be in their group photo.
So far as I could tell, the plan for later is to put some serious dents into the bottles of Scotch they have been given as awards for completing.
Shades - just to repeat what I said to you in person - really, really well done. It's a fantastic achievement and I hope that you get the chance to truly reflect in the days and weeks to come. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to see you somewhere again soon.
bloody amazing shades. well done just does not say enough. I have never met you but I am sitting at my PC with a tear in my eye at the quite amazing achievement. FANTASTIC enjoy yourself tonight.
Hi everyone,I saw shades finish today and had a quick chat to congratulate her on her amazing achievment, she truly is a star, said her knee was hurting but was really happy to have finished. To all the T.I.T.s you are all incredible.
Not sure if I saw you today or not Shades. I certainly passed five of the TiTs and offered my encouragement as I went past. That course was fantastic, but a challenge for those of us doing it only once. Heaven knows how you managed to get round ten times. Hearty Congratulations from me (perhaps for the second time today ).
Absolutely fantastic Shades, and all the other TIT's, from a very big ASS. Been following your progress for the whole 10m days and think you are all bloody amazing.
Enjoy the celebrations, you deserve them
Hipps - theres no place for you to hide, you've gotta give it a go next year
