Mark , I think it's the realisation that anything we do now is just ticking over and won't make a big differnce on race day.
The only thing I had planned today was a smallish ride to give the bike a check as it was serviced yesterday. Thing is, it's pi55ing down and I really CBA to get wet just to check the bke. I might put it on the turbo later to check the gears etc but since I hate the turbo....
I so know where you're coming from Gertie... its bloody boiling hot here and the thought of even an hours run sounds too much like hard work.... even in my new Newtons....it must be bad if new kit is not inspiring me to do stuff
Gertie.... took two hours in the rush hour Friday last.... now they've finished the roadworks in Basel its very easy to get through, but the road from Basel to Zurich is littered with roadworks and the constant change in the speed limit is a bit stressful, especially as the police were out in force with their radar guns.
Cheers, just planning the journey down. Planning to stop over in Strasbourg on the Thursday night and setting off early on the Friday. I expect to arrive before most of the other Pirates have recovered from the night before.
I've got the oesteopath tomorrow who will hopefully work miracles with my shoulders.........massage Thurday and tuesday for my legs and a bucket full of tablets for my knees...............I think I have the esentials planned
Major pre traumatic stress disorder going on here too.
Bike serviced yesterday
Sports massage booked for Saturday
The odd tick over run/bike and some relaxing swims scheduled before the long drive down.
Why oh why did I enter this again?
PS. Mark are you wearing Newtons for the first time or is this a second/third pair? I've been running a pair in for a couple of months and I'm still umming and aahing re using them for IMCH.
in fact everything related to IM is over rated, except the beer the next day
Hope - I seriously wouldn't worry too much about your achilles - you will easily get round the run just hobbling and walking - you'll be soooooo speedy on the bike anyway you'll have time to hop round
Sweet feet.... first pair... I've had orthotics for years and would like to wean myself off them so I've been trying for a while to forefoot strike with some success over short distances... I've only done up to 10k with them so far and I'm not yet convinced.... I know that for IMCH I'll be using my old Nike Vomeros, I'll be walking most of it so maybe slippers would be more appropriate.

Just my luck to do some acclimatisation and I'll need to pack my woolies

Training is also overrated, as is being slim
Functional legs are an unfair advantage and should lead to DQs...
I have a had a happy swimble in the sea and saw pretty little starfish.
Hopefully not brown
