Rio comes to fetch my bike/helmut/shoos, wettie and transitions box on Sunday... So flying visit to Waff's on Saturday for splashabout... return Saturday night, sort stuff... At work Mon & Tue... then Wed off to organise... Fly thursday...
Just had a character building ride.... after umming and aarring for an hour I finally decided to do a quick hour on my bike, all was going well until 5 minutes from home when out of nowhere one of the biggest thunderstorms I've seen for ages hit.... Now, I live on top of the biggest hill for miles around and I was half-way up it. I had to get off the bike as there was absolutely zero friction between the tyres and the road, which was like a river. I realised pretty quick that the lightning was hitting the conductor on the top of the hill about 50 yards away, and I was stood there with a shiny metal bike in my hand so I quickly dumped it on the other side of the road and waited.... then the hailstones came, seriously bigger than marbles and they hurt like fook, good job I had my helmet on. Once the lightning had stopped I pushed the bike the rest of the way home and got back in wetter than if I'd been in a bath fully clothed, soon as I shut the door it bloody stopped.
The bikes creaking like mad now and I only had the thing serviced last week.
Thought i had spent enough money this past few months/weeks and days, went out for a bike ride today and got 1/2 mile from home and a spoke went on my bike, the guy who fixes my bike reckons all the spokes are week and would not trust for an IM ride New wheel here i come (not) I seem to get a bargain by saveing a few quid, then something that cost a bloody fortune fecks up as well.
Top weather forecasting by (Mr) Gertie. But ignore all weather forecasts. When I did my last long ride with Hope there was heavy rain forcast all day - that was the up to the minute forecast of that morning. We didn't feel a drop until gone 4pm - then it turned into a reprise of the hail storm at 95 miles...................

Hope its not like this in Zurich !
<<Chortle>>
Yeh, cos I've been training (read sweating like mad) in woolly jumpers all spring expecting hot temps. If it's cool, I'm gonna freeze!
Happy birthday Ellie
Bike went in for service today - new cassette and chain needed and the brakes tweeked so that's me set. LBS didn't sell new legs as well though, pity.
Mark - put your wet suit on next time

Could i run 112m pushing my bike
Let's be honest, the long range weather forecasts are usually rubbish and contradictatory.
This one is showing 25c on race day.
I remember looking at the forecast for the Bala weekend and it was completed wrong.
I'm going to start taking an interest in the weather next Tues/Weds just so I know if I need to pack anything else.
TB - ouch! At least you found out today rather than during the race.
Girlies (and boys if you so desire) tescos sale have yellow bikini tops for £3 ... go nicely with the yellow shorts for £6
Gertie is having a yellow bikini....?
I told you he was a girl...
Girly Gertie, why aren't you on the flights list??
And what about Waffy?
I doubt it !!
I wonder if he lurks in here!
Oh well, long may the list's continue!
Morning folks...
Gawwd I sleep like a log these days.... I'm sure it's all good.

IMCH weather will be fine. It has to be.
My list... Any glaring ommissions?
