You don't know anyone who would be looking for someone like me (for example!!) to work in Paris for a year next year do you? I will have brushed up on my elementary A level french by then! am thinking of coming over for a year.
anything really, was looking at coming over next september. I was going to do some sort of bar work until I got an admin type office job. I want to carry on doing a corporate type affair otherwise i would fall behind if you know what i mean but i dont mind anything really. would it be easier to find something if i came out rather than from england?
September '06? You've got plenty of time then. I'd get a job in one of the English/American pubs or bars to start with just in case your French is still a bit rusty. That'd be a good place to make contacts too. I know several restaurant and club owners but your French would have to be pretty good for them. Might be an idea to spend a few days visiting the pubs and places though. I'll make a list of possibilities... (this could get rather messy!!) then can phone in advance for you and maybe set up some interviews?
Thanks, will discuss nearer the time...hopefully my french will be better by next year, starting a french business course in january. But we shall see next year, i'll see you before that anyway i hope!
Jelly/cooper-look forward to seeing you in a few weeks...guy! why arent you coming?
(could this be the return of the pink cow?? Waiting with baited breath Coops!)
Getting back to P-V for a minute. I'll be collecting my dossard on Saturday afternoon probably. Anyone want to meet for coffee in that brasserie at Porte de Versaille opposite the entrance to the expo?
And getting back to Patouka too!! She's all packed up and in a hotel now so no internet access. I'm seeing her on Saturday if anyone wants me to pass on any messages before she heads back to Oz on Sunday night. Email me or post here please.
Had a lovely run thanks Jelly. 3 miles up to Longchamp, 4 laps and home again. Really felt I could have gone on and on on Saturday (what a lot of ons!) Intervals were fab yesterday and I knocked out an easy 10k at 6am today. Running is generally coming along very nicely. Just worried what'll happen when we stick a hill into the equation!!!
Hi Jelly, how the devil are you? It's typical. I don't go out for weeks on end, then all of a sudden have 2 things on on the same night. Am trying to rearrange things to get to the social, but it's not looking promising at the mo.
I will be at P-V and definately will be at CP10. I'm racing that one,but will be in the Patch for the remainder of the day (seeing as it's only a 2 minute staggers home!!)
Rach you think you hate hills now but you'll learn to love them later, or you'll be unable to walk, one of the two! P-V will give a little taster of what's to come at M-C but I guarantee that you'll run the second 10k of M-C faster than your 10k PB. I'm back in the gym preparing my quads especially!
Guy I'm pretty good at the moment, still being attended to by the physio, although not for the calf! I'm especially looking forward to the CP 10, I've decided to use it to have a serious go at my 10 PB as a run up to a crack at my half in December. Is the CB 10 course as flat and fast as I'm led to believe? Looking forward to celebrating in the pub after, I've a long drive home after so it may just be a lemonade!
Hill training ruins my hips? Seriously (for once) whenever I do a hill session, I can't get out of bed the next day as it feels like my hip is out of place/badly bruised. Any clues on what this is?
Thanks for sharing that. and yes it is obvious. do some more running...thatll sort you out...stretching cooper, stretching!!hip out of place? youre getting old.
L if you don't enjoy em you're not doing them right. As for the hills, I can't go far here without having to run a hill of some sort....you have to embrace them!
Laura - you forget. I've met you all before. My other 'engagement' is a sham. I 'm trying to avoid you all really.
JB - The CP10 is flat as a pancake. In fact the British 10 mile record was set on it it's that quick. Some stick thin chappy ran it in 48 minutes or so which is just plain silly
Coops in answer to your question. You should be aiming for 70-73 mins based on Cransley time and the fact that this course doesn't have a hill in sight and it'll be about 30 degrees cooler will also be a bonus

Good luck to you both anyway!

Plenty of time though as I said.
School run.... see ya! x

Laura - due to my popularity, I've managed to double book myself on 'Social' night and can't now make it. Will be going to the next one though

Rach coffee would be very good. Please pass on my best wishes for Sunday to Patouka and safe journey home etc. etc. Btw how did your 15 miler go?
Guy, I was looking forward to seeing you at the social, never mind it will be Paris or the CP 10. Are you running or marshalling that one?

Any idea what sort of time I should be aiming for for the CP10 based on a 43ish 10km? Never ran one before.
Guy-nothing could be more interesting than seeing us!

P.S. Yes, I am deprived. Is it that obvious?!

(Bet you sing that all day now)
