I haven't posted for 20 minutes, but the phone has been very quiet, perhaps I need to ring my mobile to make sure its still working, might have left it on silent! Back soon, possibly
Reading the terms of the competition again, I understand that RW were going to contact the winners before the 11th or have I mis-understood... as usual?? <!--Session data--><!--Session data--><!--Session data-->
Just had a re read of the competition rules, the bit we are all stressing over is here
Entries close midday, Wednesday November 11. Shortlisted candidates will be notified no later than Friday November 13.
For further information on the competition terms and conditions (including the dates of training seminars and pacing events), please visit www.runnersworld.co.uk/lucozadevlmtermsandconditions. Only entries from persons aged 18 and over will be accepted.
Madaussie, you qualify for the residency rules unless you are actually posting this from Perth or somewhere down there.
nope, never been to perth, live in london. I'm technically of dual nationalitly now. I have two passports, so I can use the one that gives me the shortest line!
I reckon, after reading the rules again, that the shortlisted people will get a phone call today. This will then give them tomorrow to sort out their photo, pitch etc and the finalists will go live over the weekend for the vote. Its a bit like X Factor! Lets hope the judges are more sound though!
Just to tweak up my activity on here have reviewed another product, and I spotted a few of you seem to have done the same over the last couple of days. We are a sad bunch!
Flanks, no its my husband's grandma, but she loved my running and loved to hear all about it. I could have it on mute and whisper into the phone if I get 'the call', but then I'd feel this incredible urge to sing and dance!!
For info - I was notified that I had won last years competition by email and it was around 5pm on the 'no later than... date' just to add to the suspense!! I then had to phone RW and confirm I was happy to take part!! As if i wouldn't have been, I think I was rather excited!
Surely they'd leave a voicemail? It's not like a radio competition where you have to do it at the second. If you're chosen, you're chosen, end of, I would think.
Not that I know a great deal about it all, but I bought myself a "ultimate guide to marathon running" and the advise to enter a couple of 10ks and perhaps 2 halfs in the run-up to the date. I am looking to do the samre. But it really depends also on what level you are entering the race, i.e beginne or advance...
Comments
I think they'll either phone or email tomorrow and ask the successful ones to keep tight lipped until the announcement is made on the site.
But there's loads of lurkers - loads more than posters. And tomorrow is ages away - not sure I won't pop before then!
those lucky will probably only find out Friday, so thats two and a half days of staring at the phone.

So those runners in Perth Scotland, 20 miles from me, are excluded?
At least that will cut down the competition for places a bit

What races are people lining up for this?
Does anyone think 5k's have any benifit in marathon training?
Woo, the suspense is killing me Friday the 13th mmh I'm not suspicious! Not long more to wait then, it must bring back memories Sue.
