IL, you are allowed to talk about the 1/2 on here - I'm excited for you Alan, hope you're enjoying your time at the start. Where does it start from btw? I've got nooooo running shoes and they are purple and silver. It doesn't get much better than that in redheadland as purple is my favourite colour. Have a lovely weekend everyone
Thanks v much, Redhead. Enjoy the swanky new trainers & have a good weekend
think i may give the tunnel run a blast too this year if im allowed alan!! i have unfinished buisness with it! ran it 3 years ago ten weeks after a groin operation and didnt do well so illl be back! its getting cheap flights etc is the key!
I'm number 21 tomorrow and I'm running in my LFC top with LIVERBIRD on the back. You'd all better come and introduce yourselves! If its cold I may wear my pirate jacket and dump it in the baggage later.
LB - Sooo glad to hear you've recovered & running tomorrow. I'm a bit shy but will come & say "Hi" I'm No 33, will be wearing Claire House vest with "Jo" printed on the front.
Off to Liverpool at 3pm today and staying with the In(out)laws tonight ,doubt i will be able to get much sleep, as we (me and the wife) have to sleep in the spare room with my son and he snores worse than the wife (he is one and a half so cannot tell him to shut up yet !)
Looking forward to the run and a nice bacon butty after... with a sneaky pint of Guinness as well
Good luck to all other runners on this forum and if you pass a guy in black (sorry don't know my number yet) gasping on the floor just give him a kick and tell him to get his lazy ass back in gear ...
I know its the marathon thread but most of you are doing the Half aswell so Good Luck tomorrow everyone. Hope it all goes well. Heres hoping for 1:45 or better, id be happy with that!
1:43, two mins off last year and a p.b! I'm a happy man. this is a great course and very fast, thanks to Alan for putting it on and sorting out the wind on the prom this year! I can't wait til October now, see if I can break 4hrs for a marathon. Well done everyone who finished today, time for a post run Guinness now I think, just the one tho (work tonight, boooo )
A tail wind would of been great I could have done with a bit of help the last few miles
I thought we were going to get one. As we did the "S" round Otterspool park I became aware the wind was blowing to the left and I thought "OH YEAH BABY"!!!
And then I got onto the long stretch and there it wasn't!
Hi everyone Just got back from Liverpool and in the bath.. So great day and fantastic crowd did my own PB of 2hr13 ( this being my second half marathon previous 2hr 29 ) only slight issue on the day was the toilets as had to queue for over half an hour Would certainly do this run again great route and fantastic day to remember
By the time I hit the prom today the sun was starting to peak out. Was glad it held til then, but I would've appreciated just the teensient breeze to cool my head. Or push me along But was overall super happy with the weather.
I felt a bit uninspired by the course initially, and was wondering what I had been thinking, signing up for October. Felt better once we hit the parks
I stayed at the Juy's Inn last night, so close to the start! That enabled me to not have to check out til the last minute, and therefore use the toilet in my room Impressive line of guys queuing for their public toilets in the lobby.
well done to half runners today. redhead- my wife is polish. got married there last year. did a half in poznan last year. the events are very well organised there. Did my last LSR yesterday at 7:30 yesterday! the lambs in the field were still asleep. it was on my own and its tough on your own but a beautiful morning helped.Managed 3:14 for the 22, a minute quicker than 2 weeks ago on the same course. it was 8:51 average. 18 miles out of 22 at marathon pace. very happy if tired!
Fantastic event yesterday and the weather was perfect,,Reading the Marathon booklet and come across the stories of the old marathoners it was interesting to read how proud they were to get pre-marathon swew on badges - As a piece of nostalge would it be possible to do something similar for the return
Just an idea
P.s
Were did you get the idea for an orange t-shirt ,they were cool

4 mile plod for me earlier. Now it's time to go and help set up the village jumble sale. This fund-raising mullarky is so glamourous
JohnMurpski, do you have a connection with Poland then?
Good luck you 1/2 marathoners and good luck to Russell and the parkrunners
Morning Redhead!
