Hello - found the thread! Thanks for the tip Gavo. As for speed - I'm a 10 minute miler but aiming to improve. Live close to greenwich park, so looking to run either v early mornings, evenings or weekends...
10 min miling isn't bad at this stage. From those I run with, I don't think we'll get anything properly organised until mid-Feb (races, weekends away, whatever) but I'm sure there's others who will be out on those weekends.
Oi, GPers. Squiggle & Soo have asked me to point out a campaign to save GP from the 2012 diggers. Have a look here on General or give one of us an email.
James - if you're still around, I'll try to drop you an email with some training info. Or meet you in a Lee curry house again....
Good grief - just saw this thread alive and kicking again!
I was kind of looking forward to having th'olympics in the Park. I'll have a look at your arguments Gavo...loosing the place for 15 months does sound a bit grim.....
Birdy, just wanted to raise a bit of awareness to any of the old (nothing about age, honest!) crew. I, too, was interested in olympics being on our doorsteps but the current plans seem to be, well, rubbish.
Am another one of those annoying "why aren't there any running clubs in Blackheath / Greenwich?" types. Have been running with the Serpies since January but have now moved to Blackheath so hoping there might be something closer to home. Is there still a group that runs regularly around Greenwich Park?
Another slowster at about 10 min miles - maybe a bit quicker if it's a short run. I've always run alone but I'm contemplating the idea of clubs, running mates etc to get me through the long cold winter. I'm not a marathon hopeful though - I get bored after an hour or so.
Daisychain, Littleloris (and anyone else) I just post a new post in 'Training' I'm looking to run with some local Greenwich / Blackheath people. Send me a message and I'll get in touch. If you've found someone (or a group) I'd like to join you if poss.

Hello all
Am another one of those annoying "why aren't there any running clubs in Blackheath / Greenwich?" types. Have been running with the Serpies since January but have now moved to Blackheath so hoping there might be something closer to home. Is there still a group that runs regularly around Greenwich Park?
Cheers
I'm local(ish).

without trawling thru all the pages of this thread, seems alot of people asking but no mention of actual groups meeting up ?
