I've pledged a pirate bike jersey to CITH so am all out of pirate stuff to lend (assuming you don't want my Pirate Tri shorts, and trust me, you don't!)
No point asking me! I'll be happy with an 8.5min miling average on lap 1 and who knows on lap 2
Cheerful Dave is your man for speedy running up Box Hill.
The first mile of the loop is gently uphill, then there is about 5 miles of downhill, then Bx Hill back up to the start. As a hill its just under 2 miles long at about 4% average gradient.
An average of 7 min miles for the first run is decent enough, but to average that you'll need to do more like 6:30 miles to the bottom of the hill. It's not really a course where using a garmin to give pacing isn't really much use - you should be aiming to run the first 6 miles well within yourself anyway.
Mind you, I shouldn't be giving advice. I always go too fast on the first run anyway, I think then closest I've got to equal run splits is 4 or 5 minutes, which is pretty pants.
2:52 last year GB. Happy with anything inside 3, conditions were very good last year so it was a bit quicker than expected. If it's wet 3 will be a struggle TBH.

Good lad GB!
I'm hoping the new kit will be ready in time (unlikely!).
Its a niche market but it keeps her in shoes!
Sounds like GB is all set.
Gladys - how big is your cycle top?
Perfect!
Gladys - sub 4 hours (but more importantly beat my bro)
no probs... will shove it in my bag.
Goal is to have fun and finish in daylight.
I would hope so, an 8am start?
Hopefully 3:15, anything closer to 3 and I will be happy seeing as I haven't been on the bike in four weeks!
25 min bike laps and then 7.5min miling?! I'll be happy to unlap myself from you! I'll bike past you on your final run with a bit of luck!
Hoping for 7 minute miling, but haven't ran box hill before so don't know how feasible that is?
All depends on the bike course I think, and how much i end up going stupidly too fast on the first run... duathlons are no fun!
