Not surprised you couldn't sleep but never mind have a kip tonight and you will be fine come Sunday. ENJOY ENJOY.......must do some work have a great race and if in doubt wear a bit less nothing worse than getting too hot.........I like gloves if cold and then tuck em in my shorts when I get warm. All the best and best wishes from this senior plodder to all five of you on the Paris adventure..
Best of luck to you all! The Target 26.2 threads have been so inspirational following five very different runners all with the same goals and determination. A fabulous community has emerged offering support, advice and tips aplenty. Everyone's comments have certainly helped guide me through my own marathon training. I hope all of you have a great race and enjoy the final leg of the journey. Safe travels and smooth running.
Emma - just heard - 4:26 which i reckon busts your PB by 21 mins and your target by 4 mins - what a fantastic result - good for you girl - you see, you can do it !!!!!!!!!
I am totally pooped - but so so amazed and happy ... still buzzing.
I had to travel home (for 8 hours) rather than go out for champagne and dinner with everyone else. Now back at work!
Your support has been amazing and I don't want this journey to be over - we shall be putting together a Post Paris Thread I think.
I will write a pre-race during-race and post-race report - once I catch up on some sleep (approx 5 hours in 2 days!).
But an AMAZING, WONDERFUL, FABULOUS experience. I have learnt so much and am really chuffed with my progress.
Sarah - my ITB started to absolutely kill from mile 18 (disappointing given that last 20 miler I felt great with no twinges). After the long journey home (lots of hauling a suitcase around) it is really painful - what should me actions be to get me back on the road as soon as possible? I have a foam roller...
Ruth - tummy was graet going to continue to be wheat free (apart from the 3 croissants stuffed down yester post race) as this seemed to work a treat! I am starving today - ok to keep stuffing my face? Will try to cut down to normal amount mid week? Your advice has made such a difference to me - lost a dress size! YAY!
Everyone who has posted (or lurked) Thank you so much for your support - this wouldn't have been so amazing without you all! xxx
