Load of sh@t at work this week means no training so far
Can anyone who has camped before tell me whether any food is available on the campsite/nearby or do i have to bring my camping stove?
Slim Great full breakfast available at the Watersports centre, I'm already planning on getting there early on Monday morning so I've time to have 2 of them before it shuts. Camping stove always a good idea for cups of tea though.
I always carry a couple of Immodium, A couple of motillium and a couple of Ibuprofen in my bento box and the little pouch I use for the run. I reckon if I have them, I won't need them It's worked so far!

The breakfast is make sure you go with other folks who can't finesh there's and you can have FB's sausage.
If you need anything else there is a tesco's about 2 miles away several local corner shop's just under a mile down the road and about 5 takeaway's near them. Also a few pub's that do food about the same distance. Personally I'm taking the stove just in case and for a cuppa but not planning on using it.
Nope just get yourself where you need to be and swap over the time chip. The other year I took a book with me and then realised even through I was waiting there where's lot's of things to see and do.
Disaster at the lake yesterday. Flipping goggles leaked and stressed me out and that was after the wetsuit ripped on the leg as I pulled it on. My training buddy has taken it and my glue to repair for me but it's the second time it has gone in that spot and I just don't know whether to hunt for another one or pray it holds together. On a plus though, I came home to find two new pair of goggles to try (hubby had been shopping in the hopes I would not be a stress pot) and dinner cooking. No training and wine for me. Off to the lake again tomorrow to test out the new goggles.
I know a rip on race morning won't stop me being able to swim but I do know that it will do my head in and I will panic and Meldy will have a right go at me for getting in a state
Cat - Bedders was saying the same thing after swimming at Reading last week - def sounds like swimmers itch. I'm meeting the guys from there for beers tomorrow so will have words! But don't think there's much you an do about it.

I also take immodium on race morning and never had a problem.

What does carrying a Viking prevent?? Rape and pillage??
He's on the moors at the moment isn't he?

Numptie relay question - do the relay team bother using the kit bags for transition?

Chris Waddle mug, now your talking.
Does he have long hair on it? Or maybe give a rendition of that awful pop song when you lift it up?
That song never happened. *stick's finger's in ear's*
It's a picture of him in full mullet and a sheffield wednesday top. For folks from around here he's not a footballer he was the our god.
Thanks Jaffa/ Cake - breakfast sounds good and Tesco's for the rest!
The breakfasts at HPP were ace if I remember correctly !
Thanks Cake for the reply and thanks everyone else for the tip about breakfast.

Worst case Saffers, gaffer tape. By the time I get in to the water a HPP my suit will be mostly black witch!
My arms legs and face (pretty much anywhere not covered by wettie) are a mass of red spots today
I know a rip on race morning won't stop me being able to swim but I do know that it will do my head in and I will panic and Meldy will have a right go at me for getting in a state
Are the spots an allergy?
I'm thinking swimmer's itch. It started about the same time as I started OW, but wasn't too bad. Yesterday was very very weedy.
Either that or its mozzies.
And as if all this training wasn't hard enough, I almost stepped on an adder today in the woods. Really scared me!
Cat - is that from swimming at Reading?
I believe so.... I did a couple of loops at Shepperton t'other week, but other than that I've been faithful
Saffers - can't believe you are still having goggles problems. You must have have an odd shaped head

It's bloody annoying, especially on the face. There was loads of floating weeds and crap yesterday. Maybe the sun has brought it all out.
They should let me swim for free for the next, oh.....week?
I had a bloody seal pop up right beside me in the sea tonight. It blew out virtually in my face.
There was a pod of killer whales spotted off Donegal last week, hunting mackeral, and in my overactive mind I thought I had met them.
I shat myself, almost literally, and swam for the shore far quicker than I had ever swam. But not quicker than an Orca.
My planned 2.5k ended at 1.1k.
