Tadworth Ten

What could be a more fun way to kick off FLM training? Entry form says scenic and challenging - I wouldn't disagree with that :-)

Still I will have been carbo loading for the previous couple of weeks!

  • Talk me into it, Tiger!

Not sure I can cope with another trip to the old folks that soon after Crimbo, but my diary's empty that weekend so.......

I know the area/route well, so it's mostly just a case of doing a Mrs Doyle - "Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, GO ON!!". That kind of thing.

Not having run the race before, I felt too timid to answer the other thread, but for my money, I'd love the 2005 course to be as off-road (and challenging) as possible - make use of the natural assets, since there's no way of holding a fast road 10 on the Downs. I'd send my entry form off today for something like that.
  • Swerve - there is too much in your response that reflects my thoughts about going back home again that soon after christmas!!! I might, I might not... are there entries on the day?
  • Tiger which club normally runs this race to see if there is a map of the course
  • dont need a map - you just need to know that the infamous Ebbesham Lane is part of it.

..coincidentally, posted my entry at lunchtime for this start-of-the-FLM-build-up (ere we go again!)
  • Ebbesham Lane - what is this all about
  • look here.

my parents live really close... would love to do this as i used to see some nutters occasionally when i lived there.

will have to work out what the crimbo arrangements are tho.
  • heehee.. for a moment i thought it was down ebbisham lane.. until i realised which way up the map was!
  • And the good news is ...

it's two laps, Ebbisham Lane twice!!
  • Entry form winging its way in the post now just to see what Ebbisham Lane is all about
  • Preliminary listing:

    Definites:

    Angelis
    Snoop
    Tiger

In need of a little more persuasion:

    Ed M
    Spans
    Swerve
  • could you persuade my wife too ?
  • add me to the list of those in need of a little more persuasion... its the day after the surrey cross countries and Ive never run them before, but I have done the Tadworth (Five), could be tempted
  • annajo - (for a little bit more persuasion)

WE WILL GOTO THE PUB AFTERWARDS

    did that work
  • Ooh, that certainly starts to tip the balance for me!

    Angelis
    Snoop
    Tiger

In need of a little more persuasion:

    Ed M (& Mrs M?)
    Spans
    Swerve
    Annajo
  • lots of alcohol
  • Stage 1: Print off the entry form
Stage 2: Wait patiently to be persuaded to fill-in said entry form by people mentioning pubs and socials and stuff like that . . .
  • Finish is very close to a pub ;)
  • now if you can persuade mrs_m to run it i'd be even more impressed !
  • Just come in from a very pleasant evening at the pub post-Club sesh.

Am ready and willing to print off the entry form and send it off.

    I don't have a printer at home.

    Curses!

Still on the to-be-persuaded list then.
  • think the pub has worked for me, angelis...
  • annajo - I didn't realise that it is the day after the next surrey league... mmm will have to carry on thinking...!
  • I'm doing both!
  • yeah but I'm a wimp!!!
  • day after the surrey xc, rather than the league, i.e. everyone gets all competitive... tadworth is improving all the time
  • Digging this up before it gets completely buried ...

    Definites:

    Annajo
    Angelis
    Snoop
    Tiger

In need of a little more persuasion:

    Ed M (& Mrs M?)
    Pathfinder
    Spans
Swerve - you must have found a printer by now :-)
  • Yeah, I have Tiger, but I'm sober now!
Next time I turn up to work drunk it'll be in the post!
  • please add Snoop Dogg junior to the list of definates Tigs!
  • Definites:

    Annajo
    Angelis
    Snoop Dogg
    Snoop Dogg Jnr
    Tiger

In need of a little more persuasion:

    Ed M (& Mrs M?)
    Pathfinder
    Spans
Swerve - will move to definites next time he's drunk at work

    I'm bored ........
  • i was joking aboyut mrs_m.. more a case of persuading her i can do it.. and that she either wants to a) stand in the cold waiting for me to finish or b) make polite conversation with her inlaws till i get back!
  • I'm a definite for this. Already entered. Never run it before but it sounds a good way to kick off the new year. I'll have done 30 races this year before I'm finished so if I'm to emulate that next year I'll have to start early and this is about as early as it gets without running with a hangover on New Year's day.
