Balvenie single malt is my favourite "regular" whisky, and it's often on a price reduction in various supermarkets around this time of year.
I do have an unopened bottle of Glenmorangie Signet, which I'm saving. I'm not sure what I'm saving it for, but I do know that once opened it may not last very long. Hic.
Mmmmmm yes the supermarkets are often the best places to get whisky - I wouldn't go to a 'specialist' shop as its far too expensive and aimed at the tourist market.
You can't beat that chemically, almost whisky like taste of Bells.
Had you been drinking the stuff when you wrote that, or am I more tired than I thought?
I hate whisky. And haggis. Love Chewin' the Fat though - must look out the DVDs. "Gonnae no do that?" "How?" "Just.....gonnae no."
(BTW, Rangers don't play Celtic anymore, unless it's in the cup, due to a minor misdemeanour by the Management. Makes the SPL even less relevant......)
Ah, Whisky. I'll drink a few others but Islay is where I go, and pretty much anything from Ardbeg for preference. I'll drink an 18yo Talisker at a pinch.
If they do go, does that mean Duty Free? Vote YES, vote YES!
If reality matched intention I'd know I was dreaming

Dude you can get english Whisky now and it's surprisingly nice. Got to go to Norfolk to get it through so if you hear banjo music in the shop best to run quick before you double the gene pool.
I thought Alex Salmond must have some sort of clever master plan up his sleeve, or that, not being Scots, there were perhaps some issues I wasn't fully up to speed on - but It's becoming clear now that the Scottish Nationalists don't seem to have thought it through properly.
George Osborne's speech may well have lost the referendum for them.
If they vote for independence without sorting out the EU membership question first, the rest of the UK can block them joining the EU. Then all Scots will be liable to deportation back to Scotland.
they have sorted it out. they want to be in the EU.
the rest of the UK will have to be allowed into the EU before they could block anything.
I may be wrong but the vote was about 50:50 before today and drifting either way.
By rights todays news should mean that Independence would not get voted for however nothing will get the Scots riled up to vote for independence more than being told by English politicians what they should/can and shouldn't/can't do.

Meanwhile, here's a good enough reason on its own for Scotland to stay part of the Union...

Some jokers on this site. Asked for a bottle of Scots in the supermarket and they didn't know what I meant
I would recommend a fine malt by name - mine's a Jura (Hic!)
mmmmmm jura

Can't decide whether I like your new name Sussex...

Dalwhinnie for me. Do us expat Scots get a vote then?
I'd like to know the answer to that too.
Not according to Wikipedia, the eligibility depends solely upon residence:
So you can be as Scottish as Haggis but if you don't actually live in Scotland you don't get to vote.
There you go Mike. You're a sassanach now
Oh I say!

It might be a moot point - depending on the result of the next election, the rest of the UK could be voting whether or not to stay in the EU anyway.

I predict a landslide vote for independence now.
