seren nos: well looks like i'm all sorted and in, I trust the two of you are as well?
The emails they sent saying you are in unless you have another email came from the same address and they were not blocked so no reason to see why any other email from them would have been and I've been keeping an eye on my spam folder before clearing it out. So I'm happy enough that I'm in.
I am in too but thankfully did not have to grab a place online. They go superquick.....it is like the Glastonbury of running
I marshalled this years event to earn my free guaranteed race place.
It is an amazing race and marshalling it was an amazing experience
I sort of have a raceplan sorted as there was one in last months runnersworld ...but as I ran the Gritstone 11 days ago and am still having a couple of niggles am not running for a little while longer.
Hope... as we haven't been told no... then we are in....loving the idea of a winter running.....next week have even planned that my long run will be a night one ...
thanks for that link... brilliant...I have only suffered for hallucinations once during the second night of an ironman double......without someone with me I would have wandered off into a lake as i wanted to stroke the pussycats.....
I'm hoping I don't get that bad during the 100.........
Hope you guys have a good run up to this event. I did the 50 a couple of years ago and found it very tough, and that's the easier of the two halves of the 100. Much more gnarly than Peak District and Brecon Beacons. Great race atmosphere and HQ and quite large fields so there's always someone near you.
I didn't like not having a map, only a written route description which is hard to read while you're running along. I spent half the night in my tent transferring the route description to copies of maps I'd brought and it wasn't very successful!
T Rex. I was given a map the years I did it... still have it..and I thought I read that they still give a map.....worked well map and route book......I am going to buy a GPS unit for back up though...
Thinking of finding a 50m run in June to use as a practise event, just to compete it and get my arse around as my longest training run, might then try to stagger 10m plus the day after, that should cover training on tired legs, did a marathon a week after a 50 this year, and that didn't go to badly (was 10% slower than PB).
I'm doing the enduroman 50 1st June...and the the endura 24 hr mid june
trying to get packed for the weekends recce.......havent camped in the campervan before and trying to make sure I have all the essential kit packed ........at the same time trying to shift this cold
sitting here with my new saloman vest on.... fitted in most of the essential kit... hoping that it feels comfortable after a while..only ever ran in raidlights with the big waist band...
brilliant... I am still using the montane jacket and trousers that I won for the lakeland 50 in 2010.........only worn the trousers once but they are there as essential kit...
forgot that tomorrows race at 47 miles is a hell of a long way.....really haven'y been thinking about it properely or thought of packing or anything...
so to take this seriously i had better start carbo loading right now....and pray that the weather gods shine on us...
A very heavy week last week, but I doubt I'll be running much (if at all) for teh next few weeks. Just sorting out a few niggles (dragon bites and what not).
Comments

I was thinking that today they did say 21st is the last day of them sending out emails asking for info.

yes.. just checked both email accounts and can't find anything.......really pleased as i know we are up for a good crack at this...
I have checked my spam most days and as you say no reason for it to go to spam when the others are getting through...
bounce bounce...
Training plans for the Lakeland? I wish I could stick to one, but I've always got to be really flexible towards family, work and injury.

did my first night run tonight as having the flu jab in the morning......
the worst run I have had all year.......I am hoping that it was a reaction to my tetanus jab yesterday.....if not I'm in deep shit training wise
I'm not worrying at all about it until the middle of January

Yes, you get both a custom Harveys map and a very good road book now...
You can download the roadbook now as a pdf and use it yourself for trial walks / runs on the course.

Nudging an old thread into life..... It's getting a lot closer now
How is everyone doing?
