Actually, I'm happy to have racist views removed. I find it hard to imagine racist views that are not inflammatory.
If that's what this is about, someone dripping about moaning that s/he can't post racist material I say so much the better.
wouldnt putting a non white model on the cover just be tokeniism tho - isnt the bigger issue about whether the images in the whole of the magazine consistently represent the colour, gender, age, ability, disability, size, sexuality etc of all the potential readership ?
the advertising images will always be the marketable ones - young fit attractive etc and that is reflective of all marketing - so RW cant be blamed for that -unless they make a conscious decision to only sell 'inclusive' advertising space
but the images that accompany the articles and especially race and event reports would do more to encourage if they were reflective of all peeps who might be incvolved in running ( race marshalls in wheelchairs ?)

Besides, the concept of beauty can vary between cultures as well. In Europe, being skinny is considered beautiful whereas in Africa, being slightly overweight is fine. Thiness is perceived as 'looking like you're dying form hunger/aids/victim of war'.
And I never turned up late for photographs, but then I was never famous.
People start threads on racial topics on this board, but any racist point of view is prohibited (except in the reading group, where we are allowed to stand up for 19th century Tasmanians against the invading hordes). As racist points of view are pounced on, and the 'perpetrators' reported and banned, people on this board should avoid starting threads on racial topics. It's a politically correct board.
But what constitutes racism is another issue entirely. As is who decides. All too often, racist is an easy insult against which no defence is accepted. Bigotry works both ways.
So let me get this straight. Because racism is generally considered totally and completely unacceptable, here as elsewhere, anon, you don't think anybody should discuss any race related matters. Because when you then want to express a racist opinion it isn't tolerated.

Because if I've got it right, then I don't think you are particularly oppressed. I just don't think you've realised how noxious many people think racism is.
