Happy Monday everyone.  I've got a 5 minute telephone consultation on Thursday.  Not sure what will happen after that.  I don't think my foot has got  any better at all.  Apart from the City of London mile I haven't run in a month.  I feel like my running days may be over - I know that is completely dramatic and probably not true, but hey that's how I feel.

At least I don't need to buy anymore running shoes for a while, so may spend the money on a new bike instead image.  Shhhh, don't tell on me image

Kenno - I hope the consultation goes well. I know it can feel like you'll never lace up the trainers again, but give it time. Sometimes these injuries take a lot longer than we'd like to clear up.

List Fairy could you please put me for the Great Scottish Run on October 2nd.

Thanks Eggy.  I've read about people taking years to recover from insertional Achilles issues - and sometimes not at all.  I'll keep my head up.  For now anyway image

Is there also room for a runner from Austria who trains for Paris 2017?

    Hello Franz, welcome

Welcome Franz, plenty of room in here image

    Hi Slinkyminky! Thank you!

    Here my short story

Born in 1958, male, married, living in the eastern part of Austria.

I started training for Paris 2017 with a professional coach one week ago. I did Paris in 2013. Very exciting race.

    Thank you Scrambledlegs!

My training this week consists of 4 runs

    0:45 moderate

    1:30 moderate plus 0:15 medium

    Welcome Franz

Kenno - consider having a longer period off to try to shake the injury ... maybe a month ... no running or cycling. I know that is probably torture but worth a shout. Cycling still puts some strain on the Achilles although so does walking up the stairs.

Agent P ... well done on the sub3 .... outstanding achievement! ... that BQ means you can apply in the first week of the application window (on the Friday and it should get you in) - I'd reserve your accommodation now. Plus, all the cool (silly) kids do the Boston-London double (6 days apart) - 'ave it son!

    Hi Eggyh73,

Yes, already training! The time to Paris gives me the chance for 10 full cycles and to be honest, the older I am, the longer it takes.

Welcome Franz! The more the merrier!

I'm very disorganised and tend to start my marathon training about three weeks before the race. I'm hoping to buck that trend this year as I start training for Valencia next week, which will hopefully give me a good start to Paris training so I can have a proper go at it next year... Though afer this year, just a go would be good! Anyone sees me slacking, give me a prod!

I'm having an extended impromptu holiday so apologies for no list this week, but I'm totting up all your new entries for a bumper edition next week. I'm not that far away from Austria in the grand scheme of things. Can you see me waving Franzimage I've been surviving mainly on patisserie and cheese, with wine for hydration and until yesterday it was too hot for me to attempt a run, so will be back to surviving on lettuce for a while from next week. image. Was cool enough to wear my jeans yesterday, and at least they still fit!

Hello Nells, thanks for the waiving!

I am not always that organised - therefore I went to the coach for a plan. He charges me EUR 108 per month which is an additional Motivation to go out and run.

    Thanks Chris.

Jimbob - I'm waiting to see what happens after 28th. That will just be an assessment so hopefully scan after that. I may get told after that to stop all activity so I'm going to carry on for now. A month off would be torture!

Good luck to all doing RTTS. I'm gutted I'm not joining you.

Thanks Kenno. Should be a voyage of discovery, I don't know what happens beyond 89km - I'm about to find out.

Sad news, again, from France this morning image

I've had 3 weeks off running, due to a fab holiday image

I've run 3 times this week and it's like I've never run before.

DOMS, stiff hips and incredibly slow

    Running, I've missed youimage

I'm back from my strange little impromptu holiday so I'll be back to it from tomorrow too Orbutt. Managed two short runs in ten days away!

A friend has been wanting me to do the Nice-Cannes run as a relay with her Franz so it's on my list. She's recovering from back surgery at the moment though so not sure she'll be ready for it this year and I daren't do it without her. She's a tough cookie though, so you necer know!

Just wondered if any of you are venturing Down Under for the Masters Athletics World Championships? There's a lot of events including marathon. Anyone done masters athletics before?
