Think I ran a different race to everyone yesterday! Very disappointed with the start, was further to the back and couldn't decide whether we'd started or not - very confusing!! Perhaps next year they should invest in a blower or something with a bit of welly!! Well marshalled but didn't hear not one clap or call of encouragement from anyone watching - again this seemed odd - sure there were words of encouragement last year!! All that said, great weather, good course, nice fitting t-shirt (for a change!)and a personal best of 45.54 which am happy with!
Enjoyed this one, good challenging course pretty well organised and marshalled i thought, although was dissapointed with the starting arrangements, i had no idea when the race had started or when to start my watch disappointed with my " unofficial time" 46.35 try again next year!
Thoroughly enjoyed the race - mind you, the beautiful weather and knocking over five minutes off my PB did help! Many thanks to the organisers and especially the marshals for their encouragement. See you next year.
Barnsleyrunner - I have managed to get results on computer at work so if you havent replied to my email yet then you dont need to, if you have, thanks very much anyway. I finished very near the back of the field but did my best and didnt come last (apart from not finishing this was my biggest worry!)
Thanks Blue Ice Rhino & CD, I'm really disopointed the results time is 11s slower than the time showing on my garmin. Oh well, i'll have to improve at Abbey Dash.
Leave the markers in miles! Although I do like the idea of having furlongs - the race would then be 6 miles, 1 furlong, 163 yards, 8 feet, and seven eighths of an inch.*
If it's illegal to have road signs in km, it should be the same for race signs!
Yes I had my on. However only revealed it minutes before the race since I had a sweatshirt over my running vest. Did not meet any other forumites I can only assume they were way in front of me !
Yeh i think it would be more of a boost to pass them more often, although i do my runs at home in miles....hmmmm decisions. i didnt see any ribbons either although i wasnt wearing one either! :oS bad puppy
CD - i finished 2 places in front of you i think. might have been the other way round, i cant remember now! i didn't see your ribbon though - but then i wasn't looking as i was too busy sneezing, feeling faint and needing the toilet!!
The only thing I would say is that I didn't know the when the race had started and which bit exaclty was the finish?
Nice t-shirt - there were only large ones left when I got over to the table and the guy there said I would have to run faster next time if I wanted my size! lol.
There was a lovely, lovely lady marshalling at mile 4. She deserves thanks for being so encouraging.

My directions were misunderstood by the last minute replacements and when the runners started to come through they thought they should move it.
Results will be on line tonight watch this space.

Our course measurer only works in imperial.
RESULTS ARE ON LINE
Good race anyway. Hillier than I remember, but then they always are!
Thanks AC folk.

And we're going to invest some of the takings from the race in a claxon or gun. Point taken.
