I will be doing this one with my friend now, another 16 week training schedule to follow commencing next week! Ah well!
This will be my 3rd marathon, I am hoping to break 4 hours (my friend is pretty fast, and although it's his first I am sure he will be able to break 4 hours)...
hmmm...... that'll be the breakaway group from the Langford Budville aliens I expect...judging by 200 mins course sketch, it seems said aliens have a sense of humour and returned you in time to enjoy the last hill???? I HATE it when that happens..
Just heard that the Taunton Half will be a South West Inter-Counties contest, so expect quite a few fast boys & girls to zoom of into the distance from the gun!
Well Ive finally decided to enter the full marathon. Its not a bad course, only one real climb (*2 for the 26.2), otherwise mostly flat and slightly undulating in parts in my books.
Just sent the entry for me and my friend off today! Where is everyone staying? Is it a fast course? If anyone has done Abingdon is the course as flat as this one?
Parrot Just entered too. Did the half last year and the route is pretty straight forward. There is a hill at about about 11 to 12 miles, but nothing that I can remember fills me with dread!! Obviously we have to run it twice, and it did get quite warm last year.
The Marathon is calling for me then if it is only about 1hr and a half from my home. Plus they have showers and changing. Well worth a bash then! Never ran a two lap marathon but I think I might be ok. Anyone got any tips for this one and is it a pretty flat course?
WWN Course is flat/undulating except for 1 significant hill at mile 12 & 24! Great downhill after the hill, long & stretched out, then flat to the finish. My PB course.
200m not that much quicker! My aim is for a sub 193m, but Ive not managed to build up my milage as much as I wanted to, so might fade towards the end, we will see.
As far as halfs are concerned, got a few over the next couple of months, Bideford, Bath, GWR, Richmond, so Taunton is my main challenge this Spring.

I'll be doing the same. Going for sub 3:30. Those training schedules seem to fly by, but they work.
Good Luck
Can't remember anything except it didn't seem to hurt so much if I ran with my eyes closed.
Just like our marathon on the Isle of Wight
Just seen your message 08/12/05 !!
On a night shift and it's just cheered me up.
Campo
If I were to stay at one of the travel type hotels near J25 of the M5 would it take me long to get from there to the start?
Love,
DB.

Doing Abingdon as well for the first time.
Enjoy the run, Campo
But you're quicker than me, sure you wouldn't prefer a nice brisk half instead?
It's m5 junc 25.
