Have fun Coops! Thanks for the wishes. The race'll be a doddle for me as I'm so untrained at the mo I shall be dawdling round!
Laura, I get to Le T lunchtime on Saturday. I guess you'll have caught up with Jelly et al by then. Will give you a call when I land anyway! Bon voyage sweetie!
It's gonna be sooooo hot tomorrow. We've got a high of 32° today and it's going to stay that way into next week. Off to drink gallons and gallons of water in preparation for running silly distances in desert like conditions!
mmmmmm - a bit warm then!! I saw many people walking, more than a few dropping out ('specially the 20k) & at least 2 receiving medical treatment at the stadium. At least I didn't moan about cold showers this year. Hope everyone enjoyed their day.
Brilliant weekend! I was one of the ones that ducked out of the 20k and joined the 10k-ers finish. Silly weather for anything longer than that as far as I was concerned! We had a fab evening afterwards despite the England business. Nice dinner, great company and then partied the night away. And what an amazing atmosphere out on the streets after the France win! Recovered yesterday on the beach and came back last night exhausted, a bit pink, and very happy! Lovely to see such great friends again!
I know. Many, many people did the same though. I gave it a lot of thought from 8k onwards and just decided that I didn't want to slog round again on my own. Had a lie down on the grass inside the track and had a smashing massage from Dil instead. Much nicer way to spend that second 10k I reckon!
Hello! Got back to the hotel on Sunday to find I was a bit sun burnt!!! I am proud however that I was not hungover on Sunday morning, I was on for the hat trick but thought better of it.
Mmm....I heard a few dropped out of the 20k, the temp hits 35C and people start wimping out, no wonder we can't win the world cup! ;-)
Snoop, if you'd done the 10k you could have watched the footie in ya hotel, although a 4pm start here, of course it was 5pm in France.....perhaps the next manager could screen out those who can't take a penalty prior to selection??? )
Managed to catch the Italy V Germany game on a large screen in a tree lined place, whilst eating dinner and drinking wine with a rather attractive woman (hopefully she didn't notice I was watching the game on her sunglasses!) ;-)
Yes the ideal melange. I am of course 100% for the Frenchies. Having a quiet day getting over last nights festivities. Hope I manage to exercise a bit more restraint when we win on Sunday or I'll blow all my holiday allowance!
I'm very glad the Italians are through to the final cos I will enjoy watching such beauty run round the pitch. Still want les bleues pour la coupe though.
I have some very interesting sunburn on my back from Sunday. I was obviously too fatiguéed to do the whole sun cream thing properly and I have a diagonal line from left shoulder to under my right armpit and everything above was nicely protected and everything below was burnt to a cinder.
Well you see Wilkie, I didn't really get that clue due to lying comatose on the beach the whole time. I still haven't had a chance to recover from Saturday night. Just when you think things are calming down France win again and we have to do the whole drinkie dancey thing again! It'll be a blessed relief to get Sunday out the way and get a few early nights in!

See you guys in France!
tell you what! If you send me your mobile number, I'll text you during that game and tell you what is actually happening
decided to do Bewl 15 on Sunday morning now, which will chastise myself for preferring to watch a footy match and drink beer, instead of doing Le T.

Snoop, I hope you enjoyed the footie <snigger>.

Must say I'd like to see the French win, if only for Henri's va va voom ads!
ps. I think my back is peeling!

The fact that the sand was too hot to walk on should have been a clue!
