Haven't been on here for a while, as Dad is in hospital with penemonia, and I am staying with Mum. Dad will need Care 3 times a day when he comes out, which should be Thursday. I am hoping to get home again next week.

Needless to say, training has had to be put on the back burner, and I have only run once in the last week, and that was  only 3.5 miles.

Hoping you are all keeping up the training and racing, and I hope to get back into it as soon as possible.

    Hi Everyone,

Just been over the last 2/3 pages of thread and must have missed the one about information of Train/Tube for LFOM ( figures that out as last Friday of the month - getting good with this messaging eh) but found it now. I have definitely decided on the last Friday of January, so will register tomorrow when I get back from my Race/Run.I like the idea of meeting up afterwards for a bite to eat,  and a natter, I do not expect anything posh am easily pleased me. Now I know it is about 15 -20 mins will work backwards from 12 noon to find a train to suit from Stafford or Stoke. Many thanks to everyone for all your information.image

You just fill in the boxes and it gives you a choice of times and trains to go on

Hello everyone, crap weather here, very wetbut at least warm 10c.

    Cathy,
It looks like I may be in the UK in January so I will try and arrange it so I am in London on the Friday.
My dad's family are all from Stoke so I have lots of relatives up there. My surname is Chawner which is a common name is some areas there so if you know any of them they will be my relatives as I have a large family.

    Terence,
All the best to your dad and it is good of you to look after your mum as it must be scarey for her.

    Tracey,
Strong effort by you, you got the old ticker working

    Mick

Not a bad week for me considering I was travelling for most of it
43 miles with an average WHR of 65%

    No ceal or JJ ?

    Evening all

Terence hope things improve for parents, take care.

Thursdays club session was a bit disappointing, less than 6 slow miles run but still it's miles in the bank.

Good luck to JJ and Ceal at Brighton ( and to any other racers tomorrow).

    Hi MT
    How is work going?

    JJ,
Okay Jan it is, do I need to give you a head start?
I have a customer meeting scheduled for January but I do not know when in the month it will occur and they determine the day. It is also in Glasgow, not my favourite city to stay in. I will add a weekend to see my sisters so I will be back in London.
    good luck tomorrow.

Mick not too bad thanks, despite only working 4 hrs a day it stil leaves me mentally drained but hopefully that will improve as I slowly return to full time hours.

I think Diana is also running the Gosport Half tomorrow so good luck also to her.

Impey hope Marg' appointment goes well tomorrow.

    JJ,
43 miles last week not 41, do I sense desperation creeping in. Your race tomorrow will reveal all.

    MT,
You are lucky to have such an understanding boss, good luck

    ceal, Diana,
    All the best tomorrow

Gr8 news about maybe you being in London for LFOM 5k, am really looking forward to it, it will be nice to thank you personally for the spreadsheet and to meet all the others. Will ask hubby (John) if he knows any people called Chawner as he was born in Normacot, Nr Longton.

JJ Thanks for infor regarding gettting my Max HR reading,  am going to try that out on Wed and have noted your advice. Am going to do a 5 mile race but as a Sunday run tomorrow and will endeavour to do it as 65% of WHR and see if I can do it non stop. Have decided to warm up first for about 10 mins, as I never do in races, but tomorrow I am going to be focused and then I can settle into a nice rhythm. You know on Friday when running (at 65%)  before I did the Hills reps, it was the first time that I actually thought, this longer striding out is getting so much better and I felt relaxed and not kind of over strained like I have been, so am getting there. Thanks once again for everyone's help. Off to bed now.image

hi folks Laptop still at pcworld. they say still awaiting part. i am using the archos 605 video/audio player right now which is wifi enabled.

    JJ

Good idea, get eveyone up here. Just followed Pammie link and was gobsmacked at the rail fares.......145 quid for a single passenger!! I wouldnt expect peeps to go to that extreme though!!!

    Empty,

Thanks, Marg eager to progress. Pity I had to forget Barnsley 10k but she is first, and thats my obvious concern. Races can wait.

This is to slow without using a pc so apologies for this effort.

    Gnight all. zzzzzzzzzz

Just made some cocoa, it's red hot still. Anybody want some, no sugar in it though. If anyone does I'll wake Percy up, he could do with some exercise.

JJ/Ceal - All the best for Brighton tomorrow. I've a soft spot for that race, it's the first one I ever ran. Those that know will remember, the others would think it was JJ's worst ever result.

Terence - Sorry to hear about your Dad, please give him my best wishes. BTW how old is he?
