we probably have but i missed the last meeting...got confused on my days...oops and i will miss the next meeting as well. off to algarve for a week with WORK!! so looking forward to it
there's a meeting for volunteers tonight at trusthorpe village hall at 630pm if any of you who can't run would like to help out on the day. it is a brilliant day so come and help us. you don't have to do much
allan - welcome back to the fold. can do a good deal on accommodation at Haven if you need it
I was going to run Abingdon but it's now been cancelled, and just came across this one. It seems a small, friendly, flat and PB-able race, so debating whether to do this one rather than Leicester.
hi Little Lizard - you'll love this one (HONEST) its flat(ish) as it is Lincolnshire (twinned with Holland) its next to the sea (run along prom near end) so family can build sand castles while you run (oh yes they can) the organisers DO listen to this forum and they are friendly so in simple terms LEICESTER is a city THIS one is by the SEA is there REALLY a choice????
any other MABO'S gotta say in this?? ---------- come on --------- you know you wanna
as one of the organisers I must say that this event is brilliant. seriously though the course is one of the best especially for a pb and gives a good chance of getting a place in flm with the times. it is ON THE COAST. friendly natives, friend marshalls and volunteers. last year the sun shone on us regarding the weather and we had an absolute ball. this year is bigger and better. we are starting a bit earlier so that the runners don't have the midday sun to contend with - although some might. make a weekend of it. bring the family for some fun on the lincolnshire coast. as wicked d says they can build sandcastles or go on donkey rides while you run!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO
any more questions fire them in and we'll do our best to answer them Little Lizard
Sounds fantastic to me! Only worry, being a coastal town, wondering how windy it will be, as the gales at Silverstone ruined my chances of a PB! What was it like last year?
little lizard-like any race the weather does what it does we are in england yep you are more than likely to come up against a breeze as your only 10m from the coast ran this last year will be their again this year our club is organising a weekend their you only have to look at the weather in Boston rain/gales today and compare it with Rotterdam scorcher yesterday
RB was just about to email you but I will do it publicly now. ALL THE BEST OF LUCK for Sunday. What's your number and I will look for you on the telly xx
RB - i take it you were on about BOSTON in the USA as i live near Boston uk and its been a scorcher today with no wind, i cant believe its april as its more like summer
Little lizard - last year there was hardly a breeze which is a pitty cos it was very warm and its not always breezy next to the coast BUT it can get very warm due to the sea air, give this one a go and you'll be back next year no worries
I'm getting very tempted! Even though it's alot further for me to travel (from Wales) I do love the coast, having frequent runs along the sea front. I'll sort out my application after FLM on Sunday.
BTW, anyone else running Sunday, good luck to you all! (Getting v nervous, much more crowded than Stratty/Abingdon).
