My wife has mastered that look as well Malcs/Ady! Actually, she doesn't even bother looking interested anymore!!!
Bagged 5 miles through the trails in the woods this morning afterall. It was magnificent in the snow. Best run of the winter so far. Thoroughly enjoyed it and ran pretty well into the bargain! had CC spikes on and was sliding everywhere in the mud - glorious! Think I may need longer spikes!
Hey guys, just been reading all your intros on the Asics 26.2 page - great job!
The links for First Timer and On A Plateau are broken, First Timer lets you read the intros but when you go to vote it comes up with an error page. On A Plateau is completely broken and redirects to last year's page saying the competition is closed. Is there anyone with the ear of RW Towers who can let them know so you aren't missing out on votes?
then click the links for the categories the info is there!
Ady, Reg - can't believe we're all together! Best of luck guys, whatever happens it's been a pleasure and if you make it through I'll be right behind you.
Reg, maybe we could agree to do it together as a four-legged race? Or bring Martin C in too and add another leg? You might have to run slower though Martin C as you're in a different league from us!
Ok folks - just a little snippet to take the pressure off (and so you don't all get caught up worrying that whatever happens in your threads will be the be-all-and-end-all) I've already voted based on your 150 worders and your goals (being close-ish to my own).
I suspect there will also be many out there that also vote on this basis - doesn't mean though that I won't be sticking me snout into your threads along the way though!
Wow, now the voting pages are up I feel I'm on a whole new level of nervous excitement, having a really strong coffee before trying to compose my forum page has not helped at all! Neither has the fact that I met 2 of the other first timers and they seemed like really great people! Although to be fair so did everybody else I met on the day, this is going to be a challenging week!
I'm really looking forward to following all the Paris training threads, I'm having a year off from the longer distances to work on getting my HM and 10k times down but I'm going to be running both Paris and Marathon du Medoc in 2014 (which should answer the running and drinking question earlier in this thread!) so I'll be making notes!
And like Sleepy Bear, I've already voted based on the profiles on the pages. So that's two of us you don't need to try to impress
Last year did they tell you which part of the forum to post in? It looks like it was in general running last year but there's been suggestions here that spring marathon would be more appropriate.
Would be good if we all posted in the same area I think with the title "vote-name"
Hey Malcs - no - we got no guidance at all last year which is why some posted here, there and everywhere. I stuck to one thread in spring marathon (but then I didn't go to Paris so what do I know )
I really shouldnt be on here as ive so much to do, but I just couldnt resist!
Its so nice to put some names to faces and read more about everyone. I feel that everyone has wrote fabulous profiles....really does put mine to shame...think I had better work on my thread later to make up for it.
whats the conscenses for the threads - im happy to go with the majority?
Wow you're super quick at spotting the voting forms! We'll be promoting them later today on the homepage and on the Target hub page.
In terms of starting a forum thread, you can do it anywhere, though I'd suggest the Spring Marathon section to keep them all together. Once you start one, I can link to it from your voting section.
I'll be emailing later today to notify eveyone that votes are live, etc.
Sarah - I just emailed Katie and she agreed that the Spring Marathon section is best as it keeps everything together. They are still testing the voting system out at the moment so might be best to hold your voting back for now until it's officially announced.
I can't believe we're all in the same group either. I'll certainly be following whoever wins. Good luck all.
I'm not sure where we put our forum thread. I just emailed Katie as my forum name on the voting page was slightly wrong and she said she's going to be sending out an email later, so I was going to wait until I received this in case there was any info in there of where to start it.
Well after my 10 min train journey turned into 3 hours this morning unfortunately I'd better get back to doing what I'm paid for!
Also re. charities - Katie checked with the commericial team: "They are fine for runners to do their own fundraising if they wish, but it can't be part of the campaign itself. If Asics is mentioned at all, we'd have to get any mention signed off by the Asics team."

Didn't know they were up!
Thanks for the prod xine267 - I'll email Katie, though I wouldn't be surprised if she knows already.
Sudden rush of nerves
No worries Malcs! I thought I'd just click on the Asics link instead of heading straight to the Forums and was surprised to see they are up.
Good luck again
Where's the link - I can't see any reference to it on the main page, must be missing something?
Oops x post - will try that. They must be just putting it up now then.
CAn someone paste link?
Feel nervy!
Its on the competitions link on the side on the main page.
Now to set up a forum thread.
Pretty sure it's not officially live yet so I hope this isn't a disqualification offence

Reginald - didn't have a clue it was you hiding behind that persona!
Reginald or Reggie is a nickname as I am an identical twin it was easier to call us both the same name.
Can't believe we are all together, I would be really happy to see anyone of us get through.

Morning everyone, hope everybody travelled safely this morning!!
My 15min drive took over an hour and a half!
Good luck with the voting everyone...

Thanks for the info Xine!
Would you Adam and Eve it? I'm in the same category as three of my new mates on here, RRR, Sills and Tony!
Let the fun begin and may the best man (or woman) win. Good luck everyone. I'm sure whoever wins will do us all justice!
