Hi sills - did the 3 peaks a number of years ago ran down Snowdon top to bottom, didn't start Scarfell till 10pm talking candle power all you could see was this endless line of headtouches going up the mountain got down at 6am just as sun came up and Ben Nevis in the afternoon a must for anyone. . . . . doing it via boat hardcore but must be great
Andrew Price Yes.... Derby..... Derby..... boing..... boing!!
Whoa there DS2 you were offered!!! I am proof!!!!! With a brilliant memory for holding complete crap.... When the bars first surfaced you were sat on the row behind me to my right as I was sat were you not???? ....... and a comment was made by yourself regarding sharing the bars, at which point you were offered but refused as full from your toast!!
DS2.....it may well be a parody of my life....always get to the start line, but never make it to the finish! When I was teaching I had dreams of waking up in bed in front of my classes of 100 students (which were the size of some!) and all of them were pointing and laughing. I think I'm happier with the running failure dreams.
Talking of pee (Paul's comment), I have a friend who runs triathalons and he practices peeing down himself when he's cycling, so he can do it in races. Is this a norm in the tri arena? Obviously much harder to do when running, but I think one part of my training that could save me time is to sort out my hydration before races as I always go at least once during the race.
You have to remember that I am a fallable male and although I try very hard only to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, I sometimes get things wrong (mostly for effect though in my defence!).
Tony - Halstead near Braintree on the Essex/Suffolk border. A bit of a trek for you but you'll love it. Nicely undulating!
Shady - sorry to keep quoting my favourite thread but the guys on the sub 3;15 have got the hydration thing off to a T. I have listened because I had the same problem and never need to stop now. The key seems to make sure you are well hydrated the night before, drink well before the race, empty bladder half hour before and maybe again shortly before and run! Might need some practise with training runs but I've really benefitted from it! Good luck.
Thanks DS2. I havent even looked in the 3:15 thread. It hadn't even cross my mind.
I have now started posting in the 3:30 forum page, as it's going to be excellent having people like me all working towards the same goal. Plus as they are regular posters, I'm sure they will have answers to every silly question I have!
I think I feel more of a fraudster, posting on the 3:15 thread, as this might be a time beyond my reach........for now
Think its night from me as just heard the deadly words "I'll be glad when that thing is over"
Blimey does my wife not know that this is a competition to go to Paris for the weekend in a hotel in spring time away from the children. If she just lets me do it, I may take her!

Tony - that will be great. Although it would be better if one of us got through, I guess!
It's a great event. I am going to do it even if I get in to Paris. Probably more for enjoyment than time though!
I'll see how the Petzl holds up before putting Alpkit on the Christmas list
