I would have liked to enter the Shrewsbury marathon but i entered a marathon the day before so no way could i manage a marathon the day after ( that said, i know a couple of people that are doing it!! ) perhaps i should try a recovery run of half marathon instead lol
so has anyone actually entered it yet, i know it is 4 laps ( 2 laps for HM )
btw how are peoples parkruns doing
there are some new parkruns taking place in Telford, Wolverhampton and also Kingsbury Water Park if anyone didnt know
Hi guys, just popping in as I've moved into the area and want to find out about local races. I'm not running this year, but want to get some idea lined up for my return to running next year.
Yeti, are you the one I met a few years ago at the GSR? Good to see a familiar face around these parts
um, last year's Bham Half for me was, as a spectator, good fun! unfortunately the guy who died was a friend of mine, so this year it'll be in his memory...whether walking or running...
If I could be sure of being fit enough for BBCHM I'd consider doing it again, but I think I should just leave sleeping dogs lie...

Happy New Year All!!
New Year Missions 2013:
1. lose weight
2. run more
3. avoid injury
If I do #3 should be able to do #2 and #1 but doing too much of #2 means #3 might be a struggle...
ahh Yeti hope you stay injury free

SuperCaz, loads of races............................where to begin.
SuperCaz - yes that's me! welcome to the Midlands! You'll usually find me at Cannon Hill parkrun if you fancy popping down there sometime...
Spence - looks like I spoke too soon. Recent snow meant lots of walking/trudging and pushing cars uphill. Result = return of swollen, painful knees
how are you ladies doing
seen any yet Spence?
hey Chris, how's things?
I've got a swollen knee, but I have me a new Garmin and I've entered 2 races this year. Best get fixed then!
Not yet Yeti!!
What have you entered?
Good thanks Yeti.
Worcester half for me ! Kenilworth half and Arden 9.
Havent entered the Brum Half, how was it last year ?
May be doing the BBCHM too, for the fifth time

Sorry to hear that
oh, and how can I forget TR24!! (Thunder Run 24-hr relay - end of July)
BBCHM that old chestnut!! It was a PW for me last year!!
I didn't do Brum half last year, mainly in protest at the price !! Don't think they missed me
I'm doing Colchester half...Shrewsbury half....and Chester full...againlI'm going to get a sub 5 if it kills me....which it probably will!!
I'll be there at Chester to drag you along that last mile again Spence! (not that you'll need it of course...)
;-)
But thanks !
ok, I won't bother this year. No jelly babies at mile 13 either
can I have the jelly babies then please.
sure - you coming to Chester to get them?
