I generally drank the sports drink between aid stations, drinking the remains then ditching that on every aid station. the bottles were small 500ml ones. not very nice and no point collecting.
I used the water to drink for the first 20 mins, then to wash the gel glugs down, and also to suplement if i was running low of sports drink.
When ever i ran out /low i just swapped that as well.
I think the aid stations are roughly every 30-40 k. they shpuld be on the bike course description
Oh i had a frame mounted bottle and 2 behind the seat.(bontrager 36 pound ish rear mounted cage - works well and holds a saddle bag for 2 inner tubes and c02 cannisters too
Managed a 35 miler on Sunday, hated every minute of it, coach pushed me out of the door otherwise it wouldn't have happened at all, not just a loss of mojo but a loss of interest in anything bike/run/swim related at all which is kind of odd and annoying.
Chilly and hilly little ride today, not quite back in the game but it's a start, 620m climbing in 26 miles, sadly my quads are FUBARd. Might try a little run tomorrow, I understand I've got swim sessions booked in for May 17th and 18th
OK, back to t-shirts (yep bored at work!!) . I think we had almost reached agreement, it was just a matter of deciding what the wording on the back would be. The two options are below - do we vote and go with the majority........or do what M...eldy tells us
