Interesting opportunity cropped up today for me. The company i work for are offering a bunch of all expenses paid flights, accomodation and entries for the Milan Marathon on 7th April. Chucked my name in the hat, fingers crossed
love that T-shirt and socks would be cool!! where did you find them nursey?
had a crap week, no training because of a rotten cold and sinus infection, starting to feel better, but still don't feel well enough for a masters swim session - the pool is not the best place to go and beast yourself if you aren't really up to it. Planning to get out in the sun for a walk though
Thanks. I work for Aviva. We do get quite a few decent opportunities come up. I used to get loads of free Athletics tickets till the sponsorship stopped recently.
Managed to knock over a minute off my park run PB again today.
Now stands at 22.02 Surely thats got to be my lot for now. In the last 3 park runs i've reduce my time by 2.30+
32 miles on the bike, I rode up Fiddler's Elbow (for anyone who knows it ... the hill from Llanfoist up over the Blorenge to Blavenavon). That was hard. Stopped a couple of times to catch my breath, but pushed on and did it, pleased with myself. 2,100 feet of climb, averaged 15.1mph (moving time). Legs a bit achy now
Andy, bloody great 5k time, that. MY PB is about 22:30.
well done Brit. I have yet to get outside on my road bike this year but I do do most of my training really early and it is still dark and frosty then. Hopefully next Sunday I will get outside for a nice long relaxed ride
Britrisky - I know a few people who were persuaded to move up a group in a club and got dropped. It made them quite disheartened to be fair. To the point where they formed their own group & now stick together.
I'm not a big fan of group rides, i go on the occasional reliability ride with Trianglia . More benefit to us triathletes to cycle on our lonesome anyway, we cant ride in groups at an event.
2 hour run done this afternoon, longest run time ever
Nice running SD! 9:30 training this week, hit my target so I'm pleased with that, and there was some quality training in there too. Rest tomorrow ... couple of ales this evening.

Evening all .... 60 freezing miles on the bike
I am more than over winter.
I did see some lambs tho .. although I did think that they must be frozen bless 'em
I got stared out by a wild boar today during my run, he was scary and almost certainly quicker at running than me!

Guess it must be all the training making me fitter. No secrets.
Morning world
Enjoy the day, I shall be at work til 5pm and asleep by 7pm
What a great quote and how very true. No shortcuts I'm afraid!
Has anyone experienced 'going up' a group on a cycling ride and then getting dropped? I think I'd need a lot of determination for that ...
I only ever really cycle with Barlos ... no one else would put themselves through that
indeed, Barlos must be commended for willing to cycle with you
I dont remember asking you !!
