me too...although starting to get race nerves as this will be my first tri. I'm not at all concerned with the distance as I was with all my previous first time races, just about the other 'stuff' - transition/what to bring with me on the day/whether to change fully at transition or not...basically sounding like a big girl(no offenceto the female population understand)
During transition I'm going to take the opportunity to work out what to do and what mistakes to avoid on the 'real' day - we'll be amongst friends, so I guess we can muck up with no major humiliation !!!
i'm trying to remeber to pack from the caravan what i need for camping.........as i will be camping here and at outlaw before the summer
hubby has 3 more weeks running before he can get on the bike........he has a posh new bike for 18 months and hasn't done more that 100 miles in total on it........
Cheers guys, I think it's just usual pre race not having done it before nerves, might have a cycle over to macc next week and potter around the route. Just for familiarity.
On my way home today I passed by Macc so went for a look at the leisure center and found the rear car park where T1 needs to be has a locked barrier across it's entrance/exit.
This could be a problem.
If it has to stay locked then that means we could stick the racking up anywhere as there will be no ther traffic to worry about
but the bike exit becomes a bit more tricky then.
The mount line would need to be over the speed bump.
The leisure centre have told us that the gate will open, they close it round the bank holidays as they get loads of gypos, turning up and making the car park their home for a bit
Cool, that puts my mind at ease, although the patch I thought would make a good T1 area is very rough and gravely, might have to re think that positioning.
marshallini.not sure if you have read any of my race reports but for T1 i need a grass base not a hard core base.when i sit down to put on my shoes after a swim i find i cannot stop myself relieveing myse;lf

Looking forward to this but I will be cutting everything short, the swim will complete but the bike and run will be short as I have a tri 2 weeks after then the Outlaw half 2 weeks after that, need to recover in between.
Looking forward to this and meeting a few people as well.
10 days till my first triathlon, should be fun!
EDIT: I am now working this weekend, bugger and poop, not happy at all so cannot make any of it. I'll still need to collect my T-Shirt and umbrella, may nip over on Saturday evening if anyone is about for me to be able to collect them?
SA.whyen i'm in open water i pee all the time through the swim...I always pee before leaving the water as well...but as soon as I sit down in transition to dry and dress I pee myself again.......not sure if its the relief of getting out of the water

mardy bum panic rant over with
I just want to finish the whole thing without cutting anything short for a bit of confidence. Doesn't matter how long it takes me (within reason lol).
Transition is a little rest isn't it? I may have got that wrong.

Seren
There are toilets just by the pool, use those before exiting

Has your wetsuit not rotted away?
too much information
Oops!! Seren, forgot to tell you. When anyone piddles in the pool at Macclesfield it releases a bright green dye. Just thought i'd let you know
Remind me never to swim behind Seren. Thats enough to make me work on my swim speed.
Mrs SA...........I think it must be the effect of the cold water .........hopefully it is..i haven't done a pool swim for years in a race........
Seren, think it must be a "lady thing". I need a wee more when i am open water swimming (sorry SA!)
and is that why your wetsuit disintergrated last year my dear?
