I love the way all of us who've looked feel like we can't say because he's not here yet.
edited for x-post: yes, I saw that. Very young man, too. I suppose it does make you realise as well that however much people whinge about the medical clearance you have to get for events in France there is a lot of sense in it. Some people just won't know that they're at risk.
Hi all, sorry it's taken so long to get online today. Blame the kids wanting to go to the pier and my John wayne strut. Gutted to see the above about the young lad, absolutely awful news .
I'm guessing most of you already know my result, but for those who dont......I finished in 4:09:29. I'll do a proper write up when I get back home, so it'll probably be sometime on Tuesday. The wheels came off somewhere around 17m. I knew there would be a bad patch, but unfortunately it lasted to the end
Don't go thinking I'm disappointed, because I've smashed my PB by almost thirty minutes and I never walked a single step throughout the race, which is another first (first time I haven't needed a piss ). P&D has taught me so much in the last four months and I will be using their methods to improve my 10k time in the summer.
Highlight of the race was seeing the leaders heading home just after I passed halfway. They look so graceful - just like me
Roll on VLM 2014. I won't try to break four hours - I'll be aiming for 3:45!
Good luck everyone for next week. I'll be tracking your progress, even if I might be a bit lonely on this thread.
Well done Ten. Excellent PB, enjoyed following your splits online as I lay in bed with a fever. So no running for me today, will rest again tomorrow and reassess.
Hey - congrats on the PB Ten. What was the wind like (from the south, not your bottom) ? Maybe see you next year at VLM. Take it easy for next few weeks..you deserve it.
Is bombay mix and beer good 3rd week taper nutrition...? Hope so.
15W - the wind wasn't too bad. Certainly not in the same league as Milto Keynes last year! Today was about as good a day as I could have hoped for. A little on the warm side, perhaps, but I've no complaints. Haven't tried the bombay mix and beer taper diet, but you could be on to something
Congratulations Ten! (I knew already). I went and found your other thread to look up your previous mara PB and was well impressed that you've beaten it by nearly half an hour.
15West, bombay mix and beer sound a bit carby to me... I'm thinking wasabi peas and g&t.
Ten - well done on the fab PB. Bet it feels great. You'll not be lonely next Sunday as HeOw and Craig are doing Manchester and lets face, you'll be fully occupied trying to keep track of all of us on the web. Have the chicken pox turned up yet in child number 2?

Weather Forcast for London now showing 12c and 11mph wind and overcast.
I Hope you booked it NP
I haven't even bothered to look for Manchester - one thing I know, it will be fucking shite.
Right, I NEED TO FIND OUT TEN'S finish time... Someone link me to results, I cannot seem to find them!
Going out shortly for my "easy" V02 sesh - only 600m. What is the point loike?

Awful news, young lad 23, terrible.
Dreadful news, thoughts with his family who must be devestared.
Website not working when I try, hope he went well.

Well run Ten, that is some PB margin so a great sign that the training has made a difference. Another year of it and you'll see the same again.

Truly terrible news about that young guy.

It's a great result
Brilliant Ten - that is bloody great work! Hope you enjoyed it and relax now!
Thanks guys.

Can't believe we have got one marathon done and dusted in the group. Big one next Sunday and I hope you all come back for us Mancs!
Nah, I was thinking of stopping bothering with this thread after THE marathon.
Well done Ten, excellent result.
Aww HeOw, I'll stalk you, no worries. So don't be shit.
Fiona - thanks! No sign yet. I will be gobsmacked if he didn't catch it. He could still break out in it before the end of the week though.
Manchester...pfff. That's not a real marathon.
Morrison's rhubarb crumble may have just ruined my VLM.
