I have it, and I replied, but the reply mail started with Dear Christian? I assume that's a church thing, not an error. There's just me, in a two person tent, one pitch
Well after Saturdays little training jaunt on the Cheshire hills I am officially declaring today International Walk Like You've Shit Yourself Day ... I hope you are all going to join with me and embrace this worthy day.
I thought the field was going to be very small - 200? 250?
I've run a marathon with a very small field before. I was on my own for the most part. It was very lonely, there weren't that many marshals or spectators, or if there were I missed them as the weather was shit and I could barely see my hand in front of my face at times. Don't get me wrong, it was an excellent race with excellent marshals, just very lonely running 26 miles on your own.

All welcome.
I don't think I'll get bored. My experience is going to be more akin to the guys in the film Capricorn One - which reminds me, I should probably pack a flare.
Things are now moving on in my inexorable spiral to my ultimate demise ... ie hill 13 at GHM.
Hotel is now booked in sunny Dorchester, and have been for first 'run' after the Sandstone Ultra (joined OH on her week 4 of C25K), and can report whilst things still hurt a bit, nothing appears to be broken, so, unlike the event itself, everything appears to be downhill from here on in.
... I actually do that on some of my long runs round here, and to show off at times I get all multi-lingual (careful ladies) and 'moo' to the cows too !! ... (it would probably turn out I am calling them all ******ers and asking to fight them .. but I feel I'm being friendly)
Bit late joining this thread. I am entered for the mara but not sure how it's gonna go or if I'll finish. I'm winging it on long runs of 10 miles which have been infrequent lately!
Will you have any squash or liquids other than water at the aid stations please? Will there be anything else like energy bars or sweets etc?

200 ish this year will be a test to see if the village and infrastructure can cope with more in the future
We dont want to piss off the village by turning up with hundreds of runners and their mates
Mrs Hog the aid stations and water stations are 3 miles aprt we wont have a massive amount of marshals out but it wont get lonely
You can talk to the sheep
