I'm guilty of everyone doing a parkrun today. I'd set my alarm for 7am but when I heard the rain lashing against the windows I switched it off and went back to sleep +
In my defence I had to come into work at 1pm, so didn't fancy schlepping down to South Shields at 8.30am in the pouring rain on the bus, do a very soggy parkrun up along the cliffs, get the bus back home, get showered and into dry clothes ... just to have to go back out in it again for work, getting soaking all over again. Without the car, relying on public transport would have been cutting it fine today. Especially since the metros were running really late thanks to flooding at a few stations on the way up to Newcastle
I probably would have forced myself out the door if I didn't have to work this afternoon, as running in the rain is actually a joy ... but try telling non-runners that!
I did manage a nice little steady 5 miler last night after work in much drier, sunnier conditions.
XL - good luck with your race tomorrow.
mr sj - hope the deck-making goes ok, but hard lines about the weather. My front lawn is back to resembling a paddling pool ... I can only conclude that my soil is of the clay variety - she says, trying to sound knowledgable.
But hey - we have torrential rain, so it must be summer, right?
Xl - yes im looking forwrd to the cookson, off to do the greggs run with the kids tomorrow and planning on running to the racecourse from mine to squeeze in my long run.
Fiona - yes i am laying the decking in is rain ! Out all day tomorrow so it needs to be finished today, having a 5 min coffee break now and then back to work
Apparently my Parkrun today time today was first in age category and even better Sweatshop give you a £15 voucher off shoes for your first run and guess what I need some new shoes yippee

It's wet here too :S
Its sunny here (for today)
Hello everypeople
parkplodge number 80 for me on the moor this morning
Boy it was wet !
21:37 will do very nicely.
Even more pleased with a strong finish. Passed 5 runners in the final km, but didn't get passed by any
Fantastic result XL - you'll be so fast when you actually get to do one in the dry!
Some good running going on.
Congratulations on your maiden parkrun, BP
Bet it was grim at the coast, mr sj - it was blowy enough inland.
Looking forward to Clive Cookson on Wednesday ?
Thanks, Vixx.
I am looking forward to having a good day. Not too much wind today, but it was heavy going at times, including a few ankle-deep puddles.
Morning Vixx and CC2.
XL - I was just thinking this morning I hope the weather is better on Wednesday.
Mr SJ - are you actually laying the decking in this?
I'm just looking to tomorrow at the moment, Fiona. Supposed to be doing the Greggs Cancer 5 miler with the younger camel calf. Please let it be dry !
XL - great running in that weather.
Yes rain might put the younger camel off.
Cheers, BP
She's a tough soul, when she puts her mind to something. I just hope her resolve isn't tested too much before we even get started.
Checked parkrun results page, Fiona, and last week was your 30th, so you have a short headstart in our race
Best of luck with your 3000m, CC2.

Obviously slower runners in my Parkrun - my time of 21:41 came in 13th.
Not as slow as the ones in my parkrun BP ... I've come 2nd lady 2 weeks in a row . It's not my fault if quicker runners don't show up.

Afternoon everyone
What are you up to today Fiona/Bearsted/XL?
Well done to all parkrunners today
I hope work goes quickly Shielsy!
mr sj - I hope the decking gets done quickly or that it dries up
Aren't decks supposed to get wet? All he needs is a sailor's outfit
parkrun was the limit of my exertions for today, Vixx.
How about you?
Well done on your run last night, Shielsy. I wouldn't blame you at all for not running this morning. Hope your shift passes quickly.
I hope you and your youngster enjoy Greggs tomorrow, mr sj.
I will see you on Wednesday, if not before.
XL - I did think I was 1 ahead of you. We'll see how long it lasts!
Shielsy - the bit I hate most is getting on the metro home soaking wet.
Bear - the Newcastle parkrun used to be like that but it has got really popular recently.
Mr SJ - best of luck with that.
Vixx - having dried out I'm currently eating more calories than I burnt in Costa.
Nice one Fiona Keep it going
I'm not exerting myself at all today. I am in front of the TV and doing some planning work on the laptop
Weather is vile :S
Me - I am sat watching crickthrown the local green
Nice one - it sounds like you have really good weather down there Bearsted!
I'm in work, hoping the students will leave before 5pm and I don't have to round them out like sheep as I'm here on my own .
They all look like they're fairly settled, so I'm not hopeful.
Would much rather have had an afternoon in front of the telly watching a film as it poured down outside ... that's what rainy days are made for.
It's drying up here.... Am watching Nashville on Catch Up
Good luck tomorrow Vixx
Thank you Bearsted

Very well timed Bearsted!
