I hate jelly fish. I got tattooed by one in the Med. It stung for days. The mark stayed for a month. I do appreciate that they come and they go, and that you can be lucky or unlucky.
Having put my name down I'm already querying whether I can make it, due to my daughter's A levels which might, or might not, be finished. I wouldn't know the timetable until a few weeks before the event, and frankly that's far too late. I guess that I'll be off to Tenby if I'm lucky.
Thanks Bobby. Blisters I got stung by a jelly fish last time the Pirates did Nice. I was a newbie back then and was too scared to tell anyone in case they wanted to pee on me. I wouldn't mind now of course! But yes... it does bloody hurt!
I know Liz and Ali who run the business as we have been BTF officials at some of their events and will be officiating at the Brett Tri on the 16th - http://www.trispiritevents.com/the-team.html
Have you thought about joining the local tri club for bike rides - good company generally and if motivation is an issue it can help. Also they will know all the routes you can possibly want to help avoid boredom s! Ashford Tri is your local club from the sounds of it
Thanks for the suggestions, I have thought about it and would love to join one, I just need to pull my finger out and do it! Up till now I was a bit worried everyone would laugh at my complete ineptitude but I suppose there will always be a slow one and someone has to come last so it might as well be me!
There's a sun cream which is mean to help prevent jelly fish stings. I think its called SafeSea. Has anyone tried it? Also can they sting your through a wetsuit?
Haven't tried it myself. If there are jellyfish which can penetrate 3mm of neoprene I might have to reconsider my participation- I think it's just hands, feet and face which will need protecting.
I have binned my Roth idea as i will not have the cash then and i have got some big family commitments but am saving my pennies as we speak autumn could be a goer as all the family stuff will be done and paid by September

Blisters - her school should be able to issue a provisional personal timetable by end March 2014 but the provisional summer 2014 generic exam timetables are already in the public domain on the various exam board websites so if you know her exam boards and subjects you can already begin to have a pretty good idea of her (and your!) commitments
Max, I think I posted earlier that this had not sold out in December (2012) for this years race so I think we/you/I have plenty of time to put pennies in the sock as long as we keep an eye on the entry lists
I swore I wasn't going long again until 2015 for the anniversary sailing and date wise this is really bad for me as there's a very good chance I would have to be back in work on the Monday morning which is impossible!
arse, you reckon entries will be open till the autumn?? I was hoping it would sell out this month then my descision would be made for me ... I'll never last till the autumn!
Pingu ... December is when the price increases and there tends to be a bit of a last minute rush then and a few places potentially released later/early 2014
Right this jellyfish thing has sold me cleared with Mrs RBM and providing total financial meltdown dont happen i am in can some savvy nice person add me to the list

Thanks Bobby.

That's what I thought but thought I'd check! Ouch... could you imagine a jelly fish sting on the sole of your foot???
I think the sharks will scare most of the jellyfish away
and Meldy will scare them
