I know Simon, its bloody awful today here today.......fog, then it cleared to give us rain.
Intervals done tonight.......3 x 2k @ 16km/h on treddie, incline 2..........bloody hell my legs are burning now. Maybe I shouldn't of done kettlebells first! It will be a very slow run tomorrow am!
Having observed 2 other runners pin their race numbers to their BCRC shirts this evening, I have learned that I possibly obsess over this more than others...
Still not sure if I will be running to be honest - lurgy is borderline obstreperous. But I've laid out my kit and if I DNF at 500m so be it!
Good luck to all running tomorrow, including fab Convocanta here in the Shrew!
If there is I'll be doing my best to negotiate an opt out for the UK, so we can maintain our own ancient and unique pinning standards, which we think are much better than everyone else's.

I would expect nothing less... even if it only makes sense groups all group of people!

Shakes head from Brussels and sighs out loud......
"Ancient and Unique pinning standard" is translated into "The number is folded in half so no one can read it, it's upside down, the font is unreadable from a distance of greater than 1 metre (1.07 yards) and it contains some weird symbols rather than actual understandable numbers.
The French will insist that you produce a certificate stamped by your doctor to prove you're fit to use pins in a public place, the Italians will insist you pin your number to a hi-viz jacket, and the Norwegians will complain that although they don't get any say in the pinning standards, they still have to adhere to them if they want to take part in any of our races .
I don't think I'll be stealing any of Weedy's thunder if I reveal that he's been beaten by a girl. As was everyone else in the race - the Wall winner is Sonja Bracegirdle with 69 miles in 10:53:29 http://t.co/lAZSSSXb2J

You say that like it is a bad thing RR. Keep going Weedy!
He's run Hadrian wall this weekend. I'll let him tell you all of the details but from the sounds of it - he's had Ann absolutely great race!
She's right, i've had a grin on my face from ear to ear all weekend. Absolutely loved it. It. being brief as I'm at my sister's house. I did the two day event - 32 miles on Saturday in 5 hrs 58. 37 miles today in 6 hrs 49, for a grand total of 12 hours 47.
Well done to the Shrews who did it and commiserations to those who didn't
We've shifted location to DC
Feeling a bit smug this morning when we saw torrential rain outside the hotel - being British we'd brought waterproofs Stepped out of the hotel in our waterproofs and it was 75 degrees at 10am. They lasted about 10 minutes and got stuffed in the rucksack. Spent the rest of the day sweating profusely.
returned to the hotel at 9pm and the temperature was 85 degrees. !!!
That's just wrong.
Got to see a lot of DC today - Marine Corps marathon is now firmly on bucket list
More walking tomorrow but leaving the North Face in the room
Comments
RR - I think so - we could make a lot of money
I'm hoping the same - its really windy here and i hope the weather stays well for Weedy
Very windy in Paris, got some resistance training this morning running into it. Hope it dies down before tomorrow's race or at least blows behind me.
Best of luck to the Shrew Crew tomorrow, enjoy your weekend together
Well done on your umpteenth marathon Emmy.
Good luck to everyone running tomorrow. I have a 25 mile cycle race and the forecast is for torrential rain. Mid summer?

I can concur that maus's number pinning method is a level above standard.
Is there a European Directive for Number Pinning?
Not that I've drafted yet!

I'm sure that there is but we don't know about it. What about it being pinned on the front and visible?

I case of an accident while pinning on your number, will you be provided with a 'bandage for your pricks'...
