Been getting my OW non wetsuit swim mojo on almost everyday but today was a bit different swimming out of the bay i thought this water is so cold its stinging then it got really stingy and i realised i was covered in jellyfish tendrils it was a big un got both arms chest and face ok now but pretty painful at the time and i had a 15 mile bike home
I have done OW swim, 2 x 750m. Then a bike ride that ended up being only 18 miles and 2 punctures, one mid way and one on return home. At least it is giving me practice at changing inner tubes.
My name is Happychap and I'm seriously gonna get my shit in one sock.
I've refrained from posting for a wee while. I have a long journey and I wanted to prove to myself first that I'm in the right place mentally to do this before declaring to the world and adding myself to another list.
So far I've lost 7lb, got myself a personal trainer and a (hypno) therapist. I'm following paleo and just finally managed to get myself into a really good place.
Not necessarily in that order...
My target is IM Austria next year where I want to crack sub 15. My swimming is not great but mostly because I never train. I really like cycling and generally tolerate the run (mostly because I'm way too fat to enjoy it right now).
I am aiming to lose around 30kg before Austria next year; focus on my swimming in a big way with regular and focused swim sessions and cycle and run consistently.
Hurrah HC, glad you're on here Well done on the half stone, great work
My sock needs kicked into touch after a bit of a boozy weekend Spin tonight, and i've finally got the spindle for turbo through from Wiggle, so i can use that this week (weel, it arrived on Friday but i've actually been too busy to use it. No, really). Need to get out running too.
I've been quietly stuffing away. I'm trying to get back in to the habit of early training. I'm hoping if I get into it now it will be easier when the dark mornings are here.
This morning's 6am run was rather a shock to the system.
About a mile in a straight line. Depends on what access the development (ex-RAF Bracknell) has at the back. There is plenty of green space around the development, though nothing 'long'.
Sock doing OK, 4K swim, hour time trial on the bike and a marathon on Saturday, bike and heavy white wine usage Sunday, then an hour on the bike and an hours run tonight. Goals need to be getting my running back to a decent speed, very, very slow marathon time.

Have you got your eye on a target Lee?
I have been sockless in Devon all weekend
HC ... wont you be a year early in Austria??
Just testing the water and making sure it's ok for you all Melds
You are far too kind
been to see a sports massage person today to help sort out tight ITB/knee problems. Painful but hopefully useful in terms of sorting my sock out
My shit has been going everywhere this weekend, but then I have had the runs .
Other than that my running comeback was going to plan.
You need bicycle clips
Ooh IronCat5... nasty.

I have a lot of late shifts this week so will only get the shorter sessions in which I suppose given the time of year is no bad thing !!
Urgh, dark winter mornings. Very depressing last autumn. I remember not being able to run in the woods in the morning anymore.
Quite sad this time round as we move away to a more urban setting in October. Currently the woods are immediately beyond the back fence.
Ahhh isn't it nice? Just ticking over without the pressure.
I think I need a bit of pressure .. I am a bit lazy
Cat, how far to the woods from the new house ?

I think I have odd socks ...
MONSTER pile stuffed this morning. First early swim in over a year.
Yeah baby!!
Happychap, nice to see you on your way towards your goals! Well done on a super start!
