hey cinders are you well? my breathing is a little rushed and never used googles so I bought a pair in the process of slowing down the whole breastroke action, its going well just very tiering can only do 2 lengths before stopping to catch my breathe, do you swim? my favourite animals growing up were frogs, so it makes sense
Morning RJ, I'm ok ta. Yes, did quite a bit of swimming. My little boy struggles with breastroke, his instructor tells us to watch videos off youtube, not sure if that could help you with technique etc. Lol to the frogs
yeah I have checked a few vids out on youtube but my probs is trying to slow it down without drowning I swim more like a newt than a frog at the mo haha
Hello, everyone, sorry for not posting for ages, frankly i thought my running days were over. First diagnosed Sciatica, then first physio says "its your hips". finally through another AA pal, i got a better physio, who diagnosed lower back problems, and really got things better with exercises i do every day. I,m glad i have AA when i have these minor irritations as that was the things that sent me on a binge with the "poor me,s"as we say in AA.
Welcome to any newcomer and keep up with the swimming RJ, i go to a large gym and struggle with swimming,i think its got a bit better, but i know i feel like my style is like yours!!.
Had one short run this week and a gym session, and no problems, physio also suggested Yoga, would be the only man in the class, but if it helps ???
Morning BWF, good to hear from you and good to hear that you've got a diagnosis re your back. As for yoga, go for it, like you say, if it helps
No running here still. Being sent for a blood test next week as I finally went to the Dr with the horrible fatigue I've had for what seems like forever.
Hope your back gets better mate and with correc exercises you will be better in no time,
cinders when will you get blood test results?
My swimming has come on alot since my last post and i am now like a salmon powering though the water, i have a 10k race on boxing day and hope to sub 40
hope you get the all clear with results I'm sure u will, yes its good bye to the newt action now I am like Greame Thorpe haha, actually going swimming in a hours time and get a session in before band practice I do that everyweek before band practice and seems to be working as haven't had a bad rehearsal since
the 10k race is in Poole Park which is where the do parkruns each week and put on by a running club that I have ran with a few times, really looking forward to it just hope knee doesn't give me grief on the day but I am doing everything to nerse it better,
also cinders thanku for introjuicing me to wheatgrass (think it was you chatting about it on this thread a few months back??) only use powdered stuff at the mo but its brilliant better than coffee for a boost and a lot better 4u
oh yeah it was 6months on sat just gone that I quit booze and my life has improved 98% so allll goooooooooooooooood!
