No fancy dress or wig, but still recognizable! I’m assuming Lowrez won’t have much time for photo uploads, so I hope he doesn’t mind me taking a few screenshots from the Facebook page and posting them here
I have just finished entering the New York marathon with my guaranteed place. Bearing in mind I thought I'd actually paid for it all last summer I have to say I was rather shocked to find they charge $358. Thats a fairly large amount for a marathon. Oh well........
I joined a gym today and did a strength workout from the old days when I previously went to a gym. 150 Rand membership for the year and 10 Rand per session (7.50 GBP and 50 pence respectively). Many of the thing are broken though.... it wouldn't be Africa if everything worked! Actually I felt very good after the workout so I am encouraged to go again.
Looking at the event Facebook page, it sounds as if the conditions are really tough out there, the leaders have now finished, but with times over an hour slower then Africa. I wonder if they have any flexibility to extend cut off times? Guess it all depends on flight plan. Best of luck Lowrez, I’m off out now for a gentle cycle ride, first thing I do when I get back in is check for updates!
I was almost forgetting we are a Comrades group, not a 777 supporters page :-) I saw the above post on the USA group Facebook page (and it comes with a recommendation from the Comrades USA ambassador) sounds like an opportunity to get a different perspective on the event (I’ve messaged for more info)
Looks like a great result for Lowrez, judging by how much slower everyone’s times are compared to yesterday, but have been tough out there, I’m looking forward to some pics!
Wow, just connected on 4G in Colombo and the posting here is amazing! Wanted to let Dubai know I am on my way but can see his tracking goggles are on I went at it a bit too hard in Perth I think, back is do sore, think I am going to have to revert to Cape Town pace to nurse myself home. Haven't seen any pictures, great to see you posting them here, I don't have much else in the fancy dress kit bag other than my Union Jack vest, do have an ace up my sleeve for the last lap in Miami though Must dash (snigger). If I can get some WiFi in another break I will post more, my focus in passing through airports is to post to Garmin which pushes to Strava which I then post to my Facebook feed, that takes up the majority of any transit time... Antarctica was just amazing I've never been in space (note to self sign up for a marathon there) but it felt like being in a space suit running across the windswept frozen methane oceans of Charon

Very well done
Looks like they are on their way to Colombo, presumably for a refuel.
Looks like it's going to be a night run in Dubai. It's going to be a low of 20 degrees tonight with a bit of cloud cover.
