i measure from home in gorst road wandsworth to bench memorial to my poor dead brother in law, which is in kew gardens opposite syon house,as 10 miles each way.its my premarathon trip, though this year i have run from work in the city down the north bank to hammersmithbridge, then turned right and got as far as barnes bridge, then back home.thats about 19.but i do like running on the towpath-i think i'm just reliving my inglorious rowing days and feeling glad i'm not in a boat...
thats my running path as well. Im in fulham, so its over putney bridge, down by the rowing clubs then as far as i feel like going. Always loads of runners down there which I like, makes me go further then i might otherwise. Plus, I also ran alongside Gordon Ramsay one day, well tried to anyway - hes really fast, and I dont know what it is about him, but he looks preety good in lycra!
The stories of my demise are somewhat premature ;-)
Good luck to all you SW runners - I'm hoping you get this regular run going as I'm going to be testing a lot of beers and ice creams as I travel around the world - so I will need a nice 13 minutes per mile pace group to help me recover some form upon my return :-)
Thanks for all the training runs over the last 4 months - especially to Destiny who turned up through Jan and Feb when it was just the 2 of us and it was such miserable weather. I'm sure we encouraged each other to turn up and run - and it definitely made the miles fly by so much easier! Those long runs were the most important for my marathon - so thanks heaps!
I'm off now - but I'll still log in from exotic net cafes around the globe to find out what you are all gossiping about... and to find out about all the new PBs!
Good travels Hollywood - even though we have never met - I 've got your mark!have a great time and hopefully when you get back I will have managed to meet the rest of the gang!
i'm off the list for this sunday... i was trawling through some old emails and i forgot i booked a cheapie flight to belfast a ways back. some quick packing and i am gone.
sorry, was looking forward to a nice run this sunday. don't worry eldest, it is like this for a bit until everyone gets their s**t together! loads of interests and intentions, but the follow through is a bit weak... JPVD. .
I waited around for 10 mins or so, but then ran it on my own. Matched my pb of 1.08; well, 1.09 really, but I'm taking off a minute for having to extract a fly from my eye. It was a sort of fartlek session, speeds ranging from walking to rather fast up slight inclines.
No problem Eldest, sounds like we'll be egging each other on next week!
JPVD, are you sure you'll be there after a stag night? That sounds like true dedication to running.
Does anyone fancy doing one lap followed by a run to the top of the big hill and back again? I need to get a few extra miles in my legs, and although I could run from home, I'd be more likely to miss you all, as I have no idea how long it would take to get to the phone box.

Sorry won't be there this Sunday. I'm off to paint Larnaca red and the following Sunday is the Richmond half. I'll contact you when I get back.
Alex, I'm in Putney, you're welcome to suggest other routes.
