See you all there (again).

Sulk ... ;-)
I'll be there! (my first Paris marathon)
Tried to register on-line, but think that my attempt failed. Any way of knowing? What happens when application accepted? Does internet show confirmation screen?
When you eventually can register, you will receive an immediate e-mail by reply to confirm your regsitration, and a few days later, you will be able to check online to see your allocated number.
Registration IS open. Completion of the first screen (personal details) went OK. The problem was the second 'secure' payment screen. Perhaps, when keying in my credit card no, I should have left gaps between each set of four digits? I just don't know.
Don't really want to repeat the process over and over agian, just in case I end up with multiple registration and an empty bank account.
If I can have a gander, I'll check it out.
Unless the transaction goes through, you won't be charged.
Makes me feel better that everyone else unsuccessful. Indeed, don't think that the registration screen is currently even accessible.
Might opt for my already 'guaranteed' London place, although can't help thinking that Paris would be 'sexier'
Will get back to you on that Plummy.
Help please!
Does this race usually 'sell out' very quickly, or can I afford to leave it for a few days?
42 Euros until 31/10/04
54 Euros from 01/11/04 - 31/12/04
66 Euros from 01/01/05 - 20/02/05
Paris Marathon
An expensive race if the "support team" joins in for retail purposes and a holiday.
Think it's just a bug.
Think I will try in the morning.

Any chance of getting Helz on board again next time as well?
I'm building up miles very slowly this time around to try to avoid injury!
Helz is coming to stay with me this weekend but unfortunately going back to our native country in about 3 weeks so I don't think she'll be in Paris next year.
Cool to hear you'll be there in 2005!

The promised "London 2005" charity place came with 'strings attached'. Initially, I was told that I'd just need to raise £100 sponsorship. The story has now changed to £100 personal 'entry fee' plus a minumum of £1,500 in sponsorship. This is ridiculous. At £5 per person, I'd need to find some 300 sponsors. And this during the same period as I'm devoting more and more time to training. Paris for me!
So how fast is Tim is Lightning!
Paris in April 2005 will be my 'virgin' full marathon, although I've done a fair few half-marathons (three this year- all on insufficient training - all around 2:00).
My aim will be to run Paris in 4:30, which is approx. 9.5kph at level pace.
Currently, I'm just three weeks back into my running. My weekly 4 session treadie training (soon to be upped to 5 sessions) is as follows:-
1 x 55 minute run at 9.5kph - 8.7kms
1 x 20 minute run at 12.0kph - 4 kms
1 x 55 minute run at 9.5pkh - 8.7kms
1 x 90 minute run at 9.5kph - 14.2kms
Is this enough of a 'foundation' to run a full marathon in six months time?
Please don't refer me to Internet training sites or comment that my running's on the treadie (as I will go outside in the New Year).
What I'd like are your own opinions
Having said that, I may join you for a second year in a row. (If FLM declined my offer of running London in 2005).
C'est la vie!
When I'm marathon training I aim to train five days a week, which includes one speedwork session with my club and one long run at the weekend. However sometimes life gets in the way and I only manage four days!
If you're doing a 90 minute run as your long run at the moment, I'd say that was a very good base to launch your marathon training - just build up your long run until you reach 20 miles (sorry I work in miles not kms!) around the first week in March then taper down to save your energy for the marathon. And include one speedwork session per week to help increase your pace.
