Probably worth boing-ing this thread, as there are a few other Paris-related ones cropping up all asking similar questions.
I might well do this now, as I'm too late to apply for my GFA place in London, and anyway, Paris is much better for anyone other than Lucozade addicts, fancy-dress types or people who actually like being told to "keep going" every 5 seconds.
Places to stay - there was a hotel near the start that lots of people stayed in last year - IBIS, something like that? someone will remember it - but generally hotels are a good deal cheaper than they are in London. I'd also recommend going for a Martini at the Georges V as an ideal post-race cure.
Hello Snoop, can't make my mind up, fancied Barcelona and that got canned, Rome was second choice but it's a bit early after Monaco....might leave the spring and go for another late Autumn mara, on the other hand I might try for FLM and do Le Touquet if I don't get in!......might be names in a hat Snoop!
well, all the best anyway - I'm in for this and FLM - after that, would like to take a bit of a rest from marathons (unlike this year when I've done 8!)
NK2, Ibis are a cheapish chain. You can book online at www.ibishotel.com or try the cheaper etaphotel.com or hotelformule1.com (all three belong to more expensive Accor hotels group). Even cheaper are Mister Bed hotels (misterbed.fr) though I'm not sure if there are any in Paris itself.
Hi all - I'm interested in running Paris but would rather know that I had been rejected from London first. Not sure that I'm up to doing both! So I'll just have to stump up E54... Anyway, regarding bib colours, can anyone answer a silly question? - Yellow is 3:15 and Blue is 3:30. So if you expect to finish between 3:15 and 3:30 do you go for Yellow or Blue?
Thanks Snoop Dogg. I'm usually somewhere in the queue for the final pre-race visit to the toilet during the 'get there early' stages - but I'll give it a go.
