I'm on a high today as I managed to run 3 miles last night after 8 weeks of no running. Legs are sore today & I'm nervously waiting to see what my back has to say, but its a start! Now, did I hear someone mention a 6 week training plan....? Only kidding, Hippo how long does it take you to walk it then, just out of interest?
Hullo All, I'm on a high today as well, 16 and 1/2 miles this afternoon in the sleet, rain and hail in 2-46-29,a new PB, 9 minutes quicker than ever before! I car'nt believe it, I must be doing something right. Although I don't know where I would have found the strength for another 10 miles!! I've got a half marathon next week, then the week after, I'll have another crack at 16 and 1/2 again, then up to 18.
Would it be wise to celebrate with a couple of Whiskeys? I think I deserve it.
I'm a happy bunny this morning, having managed a very comfortable 21 mile run. Quite surprising as I've only been averaging about 14 miles a week since New Year. It took a lot of will power to get out there this as I've been on the verge of quitting marathon running for a while now due to poor performance, so this is a major confidence boost:-))
I am having an easy weekend after last weekends 18 miler. I did 5 miles easy yesterday and may well do 5 miles this afternoon. I've been very tired this week so am taking the opportunity to recharge my batteries before my 20 miler next weekend.
Well I'm going to amend my target time for Lochaber to sub 3:00. Ran Inverness yesterday in 1:23 with a bit left in the tank and think that with another 6 weeks good training I can get pretty close. Can't wait.
Not too bad at the moment. I actually feel a bit better now than I did first thing this morning. My throat is sore and I have that "I can't quite hear properly" feeling, but I'm not sneezing anymore.
I should have known from my HR that something was up - I averaged 85%MHR, including walking a fair bit of the last 3 miles, and maxed at 91% - and I was at or close to that for quite a bit of the race. Hmm, not good, methinks.
Good racing folks, you lucky lot! There's nothing worse than trying to race/run when you feel crap Nessie, so chin up! Considering walking this with Speedy G & Bodjit - have to email the organisers to see if thats ok. I've never walked 26 miles before.....
Am I right in thinking that you're from Arbroath? I was born and brought up there 'till I was 15 then the family moved to Aberdeen. Still support the Lichties and try and get to as many games as I can. Went to Hayshead Primary and the Academy.

Balloch to Clydebank Half 1.47 including 1 min walk breaks every mile then 13M home. 2hrs 30 ( Although I id get lost)
= 4hrs 17.
A lot of people on the bus to the race were talking about this being their target race.
Alan
Well done Scotty on your long run too.

I was about to revise my target the other way, but I've woken this morning with a cold, so I'm using that as my excuse for a dismal time.
BUT, I woke up this morning with a cold, so hopefully that was the reason.
Hope you're feeling OK.

Just make sure you're better before you start training again, we'll get you that PB at Lochaber yet.
