Empty, I am going to enter the Victory 5 and Brighton 10k, I think you have already entered the Victory 5. I was hoping to do the Hayling 10 again. But there is no evidence that this is being held again. I think that maybe Havant AC, who run it, are now affiliated to my club. Their web-site says that it is closing. I will ask around this evening as to whether anybody knows if the HI 10 mile is happening or not. I really enjoyed that race as I did the Cabbage Patch 10, but that is on the same day as our marathon!
You can enter only by post I think, or even on the day. The details are on RW Events. Also Portsmouth AC, who are running it can be acessed by the following address, brain too addled today to do a link!!!
Now that is really helpful, a new page, peeps there is a posting from me on the previous page that needs a bit of mathmatical patience to solve. Please look back if somebody has not already given me the answer.
Thanks Empty, now you can see that I have completly lost it this afternoon:-((
Maggie to run a 1500m race one runs around a track that is 400 m's round and part of a circuit, 300m's to made up the 1500. My time of 6.27 I want to divide into 3 x 400 and 1x 300 so that I can check my splits each time I pass the 400m mark. I hope that makes sense.
It'll be a shame if Hayling 10m dies as it was a well organised event. I'm likely to be running the Gosport half the week before as it's a Hampshire Road Race event
I went to water the pots, came back and hey presto, there is the answer.
Also thank you Shades and Maggie for telling me how to work it out, so I can do it more easily myself next time.
I knew the 400 time must be around the 1.45/6 time but COULD NOT get the 300 time, therefore I would not believe what I had worked out for the 400.
Please can you tell a thicko why it is divided by 15 to get the answer. Does that mean I don't have to convert into seconds before I start the calculation?

I look forward to your report.
Please can somebody help me out. Stewart is on the road right now. I am trying to work out the following:-
Distance 1500m----Best time 6.37 mins.
I am trying to work out my splits for each 400m's and then the last 300m's.
I managed it last time I ran a 3000m, but I cannot get my head around it this afternoon and it is DRIVING me MAD!!!!
Please, please someone help me. The working out of it has become MORE important that the race right now.
I am off to look at the dates for you, won't be a mo.
How have you and your family settled in Atlanta?
6th July
10th August

Victory 5 is 4 December starting at 1:30pm.
I think the dates Ceal gave are for the Promenade 5k series.

400 - 1:46
800 - 3:32
1200 - 5:18
1500- 6:37
does that sound about right ?

1.20 for the 300m

Yep, just checked I have entered Victory 5.

convert into seconds, divide by 15 and multiply by either 4 or 3
then convert back into minutes and add
)))

so that is the time for 100m and you need to multiply it by either 4 or 3
you do need to convert into seconds first
397 divided by 15 times by 3 gives you 79 seconds = 1:19
so witha little rounding you have :
1:46
3:32
5:17
6:37
