But I still am not sure if it was accepted as entry or if has been cashed for a charity. Assuming what most people say, it sounds like as if it was for entry, but I don't want to assume anything yet.
mines not been cashed yet. didnt realise they did it so soon! first time of enrty so not expecting it really but i have gone all butterfly in my tummy sort of feelin
I put 3.45 - 4.00. Not sure if that makes a difference though. My guess is that they are pulling envelopes as we speak, and sending cheques to be cashed. I do know that Natwest have always taken the money out of an account as soon as cheque is received. That way they don't have to owe interest on that day. Although they don't deposit to the other account until 3 days after withdrawing from yours. My guess is that other banks do the same.
Either way, I still am not 100% sure I am in. Still that nagging feeling at the back of my head.
My brother also entered as well, but nothing has been taken out of his account. He has been checking at various times today. I think his bank might start to get angry !
My theory is that they'll want a steady stream of people finishing. so if it was all completely random then potentially they could have 25000 people all aiming to run in 4 hours which would be chaos
So I would expect them to sort people into their expected times and then pick x amount from each category to ensure an even spread across the field.
of course non of that is fact and could be all b'locks!
This is my third time in the ballot and haven't been lucky yet. Maybe this year!.....I'll be logging on to the internet at midnight to check the bank account. Fingers crossed and good luck all!
waytg - that's correct, that is how they sort them. I understand that an estimated finish time between 3.30 and 4.30 is the most popular so to put a time either side of that increases your chance of success a little.
SA - not necessarily, as they will still accept X number of entries for that finishing time.
There's obviously some element of luck too as some peeps seem to get in through the ballot more often than others. If you're a UKA club member then you could have the chance of a club place too
Maybe I'll try that next year then, if not successful tomorrow...fingers crossed. Can't remember what I put this year but it must have been 4 to 4 and a half.
Makes me feel better about being obsessed checking my bank and having that nervous feeling in my stomach to be surrounded by you guys feeling exactly the same!!
It can't be a charity cheque jas - I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that. Sounds like you're in mate, well done!
My bank only seems to update once a day, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow as well. Argh... the suspense! Its the reason I didn't bequeath this year, at least I'll know soon!
Brave doing an off road one shades I bet thats a lot lot harder
I think I put down 3 - 3.15. My theory is that most people who are capable of this time would push on to get a GFA place instead (as I will be trying to do next year) which I hope will mean fewer entrants in that category and hopefully fewer entrants means bigger chance of entry through the ballot for me. maybe
If I don't get in i'll be a bit disappointed but it'll probably spur me on more to make sure i get that GFA place next year so it won't all be bad

Hmmm, I didnt bequeath for 2006 FLM and got in first time.
Bequeathed last year but didn't get in for this years run.
So haven't bequeathed again....will see what happens!
......it's such an annoying system. Why can't they just open for entries and when it's full, it's full? Rubbish.
Fingers crossed eh!
My bank HSBC updates once a day, at midnight, I think
nothing fo me either yet....
...think i wil resolve not to check again today as it just feeds he obsesive part of my brain
Congratulations jas!
Nothing for me yet, still hoping.
I guess Jas may bank with the same bankers as the FLM hence the cheque going out on the day it was banked.
crosses fingers and hopes not halifax account was empty yesterday normal service resumed from today onwards!

ooohhh its all exciting!!!
Its Natwest Bank. Just to make sure I went to the cashpoint this morning and printed of a mini-statement. £32 has been taken out.
I'm overly confident for a first time entry but I have a theory based on predicted times
time will tell
incidentally what time did you put down jas?

Nothing for me yet, but have put an extra £32 pound into my account just incase its early.
But then again I have put down 3:45 so if what Shades has said is true I'm knackered anyway.

Had a falling out with the local running club so not a member anymore
Shades thats what i did this year previous 2 years i put something like 4 hours. My third entry this year i put 5 hours - i think.
Time will tell
Maybe I'll try that next year then, if not successful tomorrow...fingers crossed. Can't remember what I put this year but it must have been 4 to 4 and a half.

Bah, nothing for me. Somehow I know I shouldn't keep checking but I just can't help myself.
Least I'm not the only obsessive loon out there......
I just wanna know, then I can grumble, move on and think about applying again next year.
But what if I got in.....................?
