Mike Brown 6 - I entered online (through runner's world) for this and I got a confirmation that I was entered for the race straight away. As far as I was concerned that meant my entry wasn't in doubt, it was just a case of waiting for my number. Don't think there is any reason to panic for number.
Everyone who has entered online is in but I am going to have to suspend the online entries to give me a chance to catch up with the postal entries as I think I am close to the race limit now and I'm trying to be as fair as possible re first-come-first-served. January online entries will be posted out tomorrow and should be with you all by Wednesday. January postal entries were all mailed out last Monday. I'll keep plugging away.
I sent my entry off mid-March so I'm not expecting my number just yet. Looking forward to it though - very pleased to discover that it's on while we're on our annual Northumberland trip. Usually I'd be doing the Surrey Slog HM that weekend, so this one will be a bit flatter but no less of a challenge.
I've finally cleared the backlog and I can confirm that the race is FULL.
Everyone who is 'in' will get their numbers this week (both postal and online entrants) but I will not be reopening the online entries or accepting any more postal entries. All entries that arrived after 1 April were too late.
Interest in the race has been phenomenal this year as a result of the RW poll and we are all amazed to have reached the race limit by the end of March. I know some of our regulars who usually get in no bother in May, June and even July will be disappointed at missing out this year but hopefully we'll see you back again in 2009. The date will be announced in the autumn on our club website and entries will open 1st January.
I'll keep checking the forum between now and race day in case there's anything I can help with. Anyone with queries about the race please use the link on our club website www.alnwickharriers.co.uk or the email address on the race info sheet that was posted with your race number.
A bit guilty here because as soon as I saw it in RW I encouraged a bunch from our club to enter it so we are going to make a weekend of it and hopefully have a great run.
It is a double edge sword sometimes, as soon as a hidden gem gets noticed it fills but on the plus side it spreads the news and encourages runners to be a bit more adventurous.
It looks great, lets just hope the weather delivers - Ann, is the weather normally kind to the race (did I mention we are camping for three day so really don't want a ton of rain)?
GTC - Re weatherid you not see the pictures in RW or on our club website www.alnwickharriers.co.uk? Hottest day of the year in 2007. I can't remember a rainy Coastal Run . You can always spot our competitors the next day by the famous Coastal Run Tan - sun burn from ear to ankle on the left side only, and the right half pastey white.
I recall my first NCR (then called the Phoenix) in 1985, I think we got everybody on one double decker bus to the start. I think I have done about 16 races and I can't remember rain, just heat and always wet feet.
Bugger; I've got my number, now to get the distance; 7.5 today, that just past Craster
A very annoying summer cold has interrupted a pretty perfect prep for me, so far. Best get it out of the way now, I suppose, but every day of inertia gives rise to that awful feeling of evaporating fitness and extra pounds.
Must say as a first timer I can't wait for this. Just hope the weather is kind and I can do the event justice - anything under 2 hours and I'll be happy.
hey, stoxy, what about Scarborough? Or Hull? only joshing - I'm from Wakefield, moved to Liverpool 14 years ago and love running by the sea (or the river, if you prefer). This run's as close to off-road perfection as can be imho. Last ran it in 2000. On me hols, so can't join in this year Hope you all enjoy the day
well i've got the socks sorted! Now i'm just trying to up the distance. up to about 8.5,miles at the last long run...i may be the last one in by a long shot....speed is not my forte!Approaching faint nervousness

Anne, Coastal Run Admin.
Hi all
So entries will be opening again then? I have a few club mates interested and just wanted to let them know if there were still places.
Thanks!
Hi everyone
I echo Stoxy's question. I want to enter this race myself but have not yet done so. Are there any spots left?
