Moderately annoyed that I binned last nights run, because it was dark and very wet when I got home just before 7 pm and now that I am at work, the sun is shining and I would have loved to go out...
I've only just spotted this thread and want to ask people how they diffuse their anger when something annoying happens to them out on a run. Here's my recent example: I went out on a run recently and nearly had 3 collisions with bikes pelting along the pavement. I got home and I was really p&ssed off. I'd shouted at one of them who made me (me!) get out of the way when I was reaching the end of a long hill but that didn't help much.
I don't usually get annoyed whilst running but on the odd occasion that I have started a run feeling grumpy I usually find myself running harder or faster and that seems to get the rage out of my system.
Where tea is not desired, I believe the standard trhead fall-backs are chocomilk, prosecco or, in extreme circumstances, Krug.
Han - you've opened the floodgates! And the Everest thing sounds mightily impressive. Next year I shall bully you into entering the Slog as soon as it opens.
Still have a cold which is a bit annoying but I'm going to see Little Boots in concert tonight, and will find out if dancing is my rememdy.
Parklife, I am a cyclist but do not cycle on the pavement... Bikes belong on the road! I can feel your anger! I would also say, go for a run. It is how I got into running. Deteriorating marriage... had to get out of the door, get rid of anger and frustration and all that... Now happily divorced
If all else fails, chocomilk and Krug are the way forward
I'm very well, thank you, although life has been a bit hectic in recent weeks, what with one thing and another! Getting easier, though, which is a relief! None of it life-changing or life-threatening, I'm pleased ot say - just lots of things breaking down (daughter's car, central heating boiler) or breaking altogether (Mr ST's collar-bone after he came off his mountain bike) etc etc so I've been chief chauffeur for a while.
How are you? I wish you were doing the Slog - there might be a spare place going as the lovely Kwilter can no longer run it and I think she was advertising her place?
Dash, that makes me ever so slightly annoyed... First I got excited about being able to do the slog, then finding reading the subsequent post that the place has already been taken... ah well... I best make myself some chocomilk then...
I am more than moderately miffed - in fact, I am totally gobsmacked at the appalling attitude of the two young people featured on this tv programme "The World's Strictest Parents". Shockingly rude, bad-mannered, foul-mouthed - makes you ashamed to be from the same country as them.

Yes please!
Good news about the stairs though, it is progress

'Lo Small.

Parky! Hi.
I don't usually get annoyed whilst running but on the odd occasion that I have started a run feeling grumpy I usually find myself running harder or faster and that seems to get the rage out of my system.
I come back all sweetness and light after that.
So, I suppose my advise is - go for another run?
Tea?
Or sprint back Small?
Are you proposing tea now or when I'm feeling grumpy?
I don't drink tea BTW.
Run fast and hard.

Dancing is usually a remedy SVT Enjoy!

Blimey - so if I get angry on a run, run some more! I could end up doing marafuns after I set off for a gentle 8-milers!
Hanneke - this particular twunt was cycling on a pavement by a road which had cycle lanes marked out on each side of it.
Liking the prosecco option. I'm loving this one at the moment.
<holds out glass>

Hello ST, I knew you would come out of the woodwork!
Mildly less annoyed now that you are 'back' too How are you?
< poors Prosecco >
<sips Prosecco >

Nope, it's on the 8th November
Go on, go on go on go on go on go on.......just the ideal prep for Everest marathon, I'd have thought
Oh, that would make me a bit peeved too, Kwilter! I hope you were wearing rather gorgeous underwear
Hanneke, it's probably worth checking on the thread to see if there might be another number going at some point - it often happens.
Or you could come and support!!!
Chocomilk helps if you are moderetaley annoyed Parklife...
< poors PL a cup of hot, steamy coco >
*peeks in having got a whiff of cocoa*
Hello
I think I'd prefer Prosecco, thanks.
<holds out glass hopefully>
<again>
< poors coco >
< poors prosecco >
Anyone of the coco drinkers fancy a wee dram in theirs?
Oooh!
*bounce bounce*
Thank you so much
*splutter*
I'm more than moderately annoyed at the idea of good malt going into chocomilk!
(Rum is the spirit for that.)
