Musketeer, does that mean you won't be doing Amsterdam? How many long runs do you do before a mary?
Higs, thanks for that, am hoping to sit down this afternoon with a diary and sort out the long runs, then fit other stuff (life) inbetween! LOL I may not be popular with the family!!!
Hoose, rest days are good! Going out later for a few miles if everything goes to plan!
Tigger, 95% of doing Amsterdam full , but if there is a groundswell amongst my fellow club members to do Nice mara , then it may only be the half in Amsters as that would fit in
not enough long runs but 1x 18, 1 x 19 and 1 x 20. At the moment my priority for next year will be to get as close to 1:40 for a half and hope that the marathon time will improve on the back of that. I would sacrifice long runs if a potentially quick half was on the cards when the schedule says LSR (but I am going to do Tour of Tourfaen as it is downhill!!)
I should be running tonight, mountain biking tomorrow and resting Sunday. Something urgent's just cropped up work-wise so it looks like I'll be working all evening now, biking tomorrow and running Sunday instead.
By the time we line up this in 11months time I doubt this minor re-shuffle will have an effect.
I have re-shuffled too, work manic today, felt waaaaay to tired to run.
47 weeks 2 days to worry yet!
Have no cubs tomorrow, so I WILL sit down and write the plan. I almost wish I hadn't asked how many long runs, if I had just written them into the plan I wouldn't of counted how many!!!
Its all in the head, its all in the head, its all in the head....................
The achilles is fine thanks - pretty much everything else seems to be complaining about my (latest) return to running but the achilles isn't a problem at the moment.
Can I remind you lot there's still 11 months and 2 weeks to go I'm still eating crisps and getting over the last AMS marathon!
Absolutely. It's all about short term goals at the moment. Langley 7 on Saturday. Then I'll step up to a 10. After that a half (or two?) in the Spring after which it's time to get my head down for some serious marathon training again.
Was out on my MTB last night and had a bad ride - the downs were as much fun as usual but the ups were a real chore. I don't feel ill and I've not been overdoing it (either running or in the bike) so I guess it was just one of those unexplained crap nights.
Anyway, nothing too severe planned for now - a 4mile 'tempo' run today (will be interesting to see what 'tempo' I can reach) and then a couple of days rest before the Langley 7 on Saturday.

Higs, isn't it amazing your body can find so many ways to complain about exercise. After my achilles problems I had Plantar fasciitis...... Grrrrrrr
