Higs... I'll be back over Christmas. We need to book a run in the forest
We certainly do.
Are you around much in the few days before xmas? we're away skiing from Xmas day itself to after NY.
Is Mrs Clayton still running? I assume she is. I saw Jerry (Gerry?) and gang running in the Forest some time ago when I was on the bike but didn't recognise any of his gang.
Am around from the 21st onwards, the Wolfster too since she goes on her jollys just after Xmas (you're not away together are you??). I'm housesitting for her
Anyway run then a pie and a pint in the Langley? This could be good!
- no problem with my achilles but I've woken up this morning with a lot of foot pain. It's niggled a bit after runs recently and previously has gone away pretty quickly so I'm not too worried about it. I'm going to get a physio appointment in the week though.
Mountain biking fine yesterday - certainly no foot problems and I managed to avoid crashing for a change.
Physio tomorrow morning. The foot's actually much improved today but I've had it a few times recently so I'll have to go out for my run later to make sure it hurts for physio tomorrow.

Typical - went to the physio this morning and the foot wasn't hurty at all. Anyway from the description I gave her she thinks it's tendonitis of the 'big toe flexor' (she had a technical term for it). I've had some ultrasound and massage and been told to do a tougher run before physio in future!
I ran Fri evening, did a set of hill reps but failed to make my foot hurt.
Saturday was rest.
Sunday I did a bit of a monster mountain bike ride - 6 hours in the Peak District - and had a couple of 'unplanned dismounts', the second of which resulted in a dead leg.
So I'm having a day off today, running tomorrow, MTBing Wed and running again on Thursday - hopefully (not) hurting my foot in time for physio on Friday.
Well I did run on Tuesday but I had to keep it short and slow 'cos my legs were still messed from 6h of Peaks MTBing
And I did ride on Wednesday night - a couple of hours of slidey fun
And I did run today - again legs felt dead from too much bike but I did 5.
Sat here now (with a small glass of red) and the dodgy foot is tingling a bit. It has history for being worst the morning after a run and I've got physio tomorrow morning so either it will be fine or the physio will have something to work with.
not bin on this fred much as training has not started dues to swine flu grounding me. Gonna start again at weekend with re-hashed skedule. How many weeks is there now?

Afternoon.
Higs, maybe it was just one of "those" days, still a pain in the arse tho!

H,
Say hello to Wolfy for me when you see her!
yo
not been able to train this week due to virus Tried the other day and had coughing fit. Hope this setback doesnt impact too much.
hope all your training is going better than mine.
Today's training is 'rest'.
Going well so far.
Been doing some serious 'rest' training today. I even got the lift back to my office after lunch.
I know from experience it's not the rest days that cause me problems.
No rest today.
Langley 7 in 1:05:40 which I'm quite pleased with (given that my aim was simply to finish)
Well done Higs!
I presume all is well too?
good going Higs Best get physio to sort it sooner rather than later.
got some catching up to do with you lot-lol
Evening all, finally made it back here, things have been a little hectic!
Hope your feeling better Hoose and Higs.
How did the Physio go Higs?
My first run for a week tonight, have been struggling to get rid of the dregs of Flu for what seems like weeks...... Grrrrrrr!
Anyway, onwards and upwards!
not been.
And the foot's still not right.
I'm mountain biking tomorrow night but planning a short, quick run on Thursday - will see how I get on.

I suspect I'm going to get thrashed on the 23rd whatever shape I'm in.
I'm relying on you not having had much hill practice recently.

Have you tried X-line shoe inserts Higs? they made a big difference to the niggles I had after the achilles problems......
x line pressure perfect
