You'll find people here with varying levels of pace and endurance; from starters to freewheelers to old timers trying to regain some of their past glory.
My last 10k was 40.35, and just did a 1.30.10 HM. Obviously hoping to break 40m for the 10 and 1.30 for the HM, some time soon.
my last contest on suday more 1.400 runners at the start up. I went there with my runner mate of the team Leo . Sunny day during the contest ..result: km 10,200
41:42 my real time final rank 184 categ.age 45/50 n.39 . All the best for you ..nice Tuesday
Windsor Half last Sunday, Great Race as always, lost count how many I have done must be my 15th, not consecutive tho- resting the pins at the moment, then start training for the Burnham Beeches 10k in Oct. Another scenic well organised race.
8m commute home in the rain. legs felt pretty good and actually went a bit faster than easy, 8.40M/m. All felt fine, so it seems that the sunday's HM is getting out of the system properly.
Gohomeorgohard: did a few sessions like that on my holiday; really works for 10k speed!
12.35 Miles in 2 hours. By the time I got back home I was soaked! my clothes and shoes were wet an heavy. If I could have postponed it until tomorrow I would have! Anyway its done and only one last long run until HM. Will have to do it on Friday.
Aiming for a 20 miler today but called it a day at 12miles. Was soaked tot he skin feet were drenched and worried about getting blisters two weeks before the Amsterdam Marathon. Did I do the right thing or will I regret it in two weeks time?
hi Keyboard Worrier - for what's worth, I reckon you've done the right thing.
In the last two weeks, it is much easier to mess yourself up for a M'ton than to do something that is going to make a positive difference. Given you big effort a week ago (right?), this may well be just right.
Good luck in A'dam. Stay away from its temptations, at least until after the race!
Yup that was a big effort last week for me, normally avoid hills and blustery winds. Felt really positive despite the rain today but when my feet got soaked I thought wait up this could go seriously wrong if I get blisters that don't heal in two weeks so I gave up and have spent the day eating my body weight in bad food.
Aiming for around 3.30 ish in A'dam my pb is 3.49 so if I get near it it will be some improvement. Can't wait, only work commitments between now and then to stress about.
Deffo the right thing, K_W. I ran A'dam in 2004 & enjoyed the Olympic Stadium start/finish. Hope it goes well.
Harewood 10-mile trail race today: water, mud, streams where paths should have been, calf-deep puddles and the 'Emmerdale' TV location too! Ran with my pal, Lesley, whose 1st trail race it was. She's now a convert
Ran the Isle of Wight marathon yesterday. Weather was bad, really heavy rain for the first 10 miles or so, but then cleared up luckily. The rain was the least of my worries though. It was the hills that were the killer. Lot of them, and some quite steep. It always seemed the down hills never went on as far as the up hills! Was pleased to finish in 3:38, which gave me a finish of 30th, so considering it was my 3rd marathon in 3 weeks, am happy.
No racing for me now until Great South Run, latter this month.
Did the Half Marathon in Katowice yesterday, my first 'official' one, (I did a full in Wroclaw last month). Did it with a couple of boys from work, one who is older and has run a few before, and another who is younger and had only been training for 2 weeks.
I came in in 1:35:05 (New PB for me), the younger lad in 1:35:35 and the older bang on 1:36.
The younger lad has talent, and with a bit of training is going to start whupping me

good runHi, everyone, and well done, Enrico - that's a speedy performance!
Five miles around Crosby Marina, up the beach & back home on trails brought up 1200 consecutive days of running for me!
I couldn't tell you why I started and I'm not planning to stop
4 x 800m intervals yesterday lunchtime. Never done them before, felt like my lungs were on fire!
8m commute home in the rain. legs felt pretty good and actually went a bit faster than easy, 8.40M/m. All felt fine, so it seems that the sunday's HM is getting out of the system properly.

Wow, Solent Runner! Another Marathon so soon!
Good luck
4.5M Fartlek. Hard. (No fog or wind today !)
SR: All the best for Sundays race.
Hill Reps 12x 330metres, 6.6% gradient, between 1m27 and 1m30.
Against the lashing rain and blustery wind. Very pleased with the session.
Good luck on Sunday Solent Runner!
Nice one Alib!
Me; 9.5M slow/steady in 1.25. Enjoyed the peace and quiet afforded by the rain.
Spare a thought for the Isle of Wight Marathoners though.....
