9 miles yesterday to hyde park and back. Sore after running a half marathon on Sunday and it it in over 1 and a half hours as could not pick up the pace. Doing a 15 K race in about a months time so want to do some speed work now.
Headed out for a 25 mile long run earlier. This was in a time of 3:28. Was quite pleased with this and found the cool but dry autumnal weather enjoyable to run in.
Hi at all.well done SR are you forcing a bit your session training?all the best for w/e.FAR2 your garmin is terrific.wath will tell you at k36 on mara?good luck.
Hello runners, I'm a fairly novice runner and have just started a training blog to mark six months to the London marathon. http://whenithinkaboutrunning.blogspot.com/ Happy training all!
Had 10 miles along the beach this morning, nothing fast after yesterdays effort.
Dutch: I use 2 litre hydration back pack. I have experimented using Lucozade on its own, or mixed 50/50 with water and fruit juice mixed with water 50/50, but had problems of various kinds with these options so yesterday just had 2 litres of water with pinch of salt added. Drank about 3/4 of this. I do not bother with gels or any other kind of nutrition, though I have never tried tried, so maybe worth an investigation. Good luck with tomorrows 10k.
Me; Denmead 10k race. Another well organised event by Portsmouth Joggers.
Went round in 40.30. Bit disappointed was hoping for a sub 40.
The course is slightly tougher than I remembered, and I've upped the mileage of late with many slow runs; perhaps at the expense of speedy stuff. Never mind....
First HM done! 1hr and 57 minutes. I really wanted to get under 2hours so I was really pleased. Legs feeling a bit tired now but cant wait to do another.
Well when i looked back through my GPS for my times during my 11 mile run at weekend I hit 10k at 38min. Which I was surprised about. I was hoping for a sub 40 10k but now perhaps I could be around 36/37 min i guess!??
As it is my first race not sure how training times compare to race times.
Went out last night for about 15 miles in just over 2hrs. Felt good, but just a bit of hill work for me tonight and a speed session tomorrow, then time to start a short taper ready for Great South Run on Sunday.

SR - you are clocking up the miles!
Got my first 10k this Sunday! looking forward to it but a bit nervous as well.
11 miles for me on Saturday in 1:11, managed to avoid any bad weather.
Well done Alib!
Nice to have broken 2hrs - up to the next milestone!
Good luck gohome. What sort of time are you aiming for?
Me: 5M recovery. Felt quite good.
Thanks DF

Morning people.
8M commute in, easy, just under 8.30m/M. Running home as well later on.
0630 and 5 miles steady on the quiet by-roads of Crosby and Blundellsands.
Rather breezy but by no means cold - still had my gloves on tho'
4 miles in the dark, wind and cold this morning.
Bloody lovely.
Just an easy 4 miles for me today! The temperature seems to have really dropped!
Thanks Dutch, it was a relief to get under 2 hours! Hopefully I can do a bit better next time.
Ye! First proper cold morning here in Liverpool: ice on cars but not on pavements, thank goodness!
5 miles on the side roads of Crosby & Blundellsands at more of a canter than I've been able to summon of late
8m into work in about 8.15m/M. Beautiful wintery sunshine!
25 min Tempo run for me today. Put my rain jacket on but no need for that as it was lovely and sunny!
